What if they are political topics that have to do with skiing? Where should I put those? Where would tort reform fall under? How about government environmental impact studies as they relate to resort development. Is that political?

I don't want to read to the same liberal/conservative name calling that most of the political threads seem to become anymore than anyone else. My only comment would be approach political threads like you would having a political conversation with someone at a big party with a wide variety of people. Look to inform others not to convert them to your viewpoint.

Apparently when talking about not talking about politics things still get pretty heated. Surprise surprise. Kind-of the point behind this whole thread.

Silverton sucks. They don't even have a quad or snowmaking or anything.

You've got a PM. I'm no good at this arguing thing either. I think I'm making sense, but just like benny said: "...after I just feel used and dirty".

Yaaawn. If you don't--yawn--like it then don't--yawn--read it.
But methinks more than a few people enjoy debating/reading this political stuff right here on the ski forum as evidenced by the number of views and replies.
    To each their own.
    Yawn.
However the blantant mis/overuse of the FM is something that really does need to be addressed.

I challenge you to a duel with meatcleavers, plastic army men and dollparts if I actually make the summit.

I've just dropped ice cream into the keyboard. It has formed a sticky residue around the b g and h keys.

If Roo is advancing on Clarence, I think I'll head the other way.

I already said twice I'm not. Read the posts. But, along with many others, I have no problem with this particular topic being here. Apparently you do. Sorry, but I don't see the need to change the rules at this point.

And as I've already said along with many others, why does it have to be in this particular forum? Answer: you want a bigger pulpit for pushing your views.
Yes, I'm the attention whore you've accused me of being. It makes me so excited to know people are reading my posts. Does every NSR post in this forum indicate the person is an attention whore?
I don't think so either. So don't paint me with that brush.

But he nailed that part! EC skiing always sucks, and so do EC skiers.

Sorry, just trying to lighten it up a bit.

Going skiing for the next two days, skipping work tomorrow, so I'm good! Mad and phat props to everyone!

"Bush bought a sweater." <-- That's what I think of any time a political discussion comes up here or in Real Life(tm). Then I have a little chuckle. It's a good time.

I asked our guide that when I was down there bootpacking. She said that they already have one. I think they use it to groom that run-out back to the shuttle bus on the back side. Man that place sucks, they should use that groomer all over the mountain. I wanna ski some 55deg corduroy.

I vote for eclecticism. A lot of the nsr material on chatter I normally wouldn’t have sought out, but a few times I’m glad it’s there. Being apathetic in life comes way too easily for many. Maybe there is one more person out there now who has been awakened to the reality and history of the other world simply because there is a larger audience here. A random reading that normally would not have been sought out.
That being said, I’m glad Tech Talk is where it is as with the other forums. Put it to a vote if you have to, but I think it would be a loss if there were a strictly political forum.
If it weren't for serendipity, there'd be no dipity at all
