    Fly Swap; Any Interest

I've done a few fly swaps on some other forums and they're always a good way to get some new flies in the box and see what everyone else is tying. Any interest in something similar here? I would volunteer to be the point person. We could pick a style (nymphs, streamers, woolly buggers, san juan worms , etc). Sign up maybe 10-12 guys. Everyone ties 10-12 flies. Send them to me with a return envelope. I separate and send back one of each of everyone elses fly.

Fuck yeah. I'm in. How about two dozen flies so everyone gets two of each pattern?

Stonefly swap? They are only a few months away.

We've done a couple here. I ran the first one...kind of a mess but it worked. The first go around we did an assortment. Kinda fun being that there were mags from all over the country in it.

I like the idea of stones though. 2 dozen is a lot to crank out for some of us,( myself included), that are overworked and have kids but if we give ample time, I'm in.

I know I don't have a bunch of posts, but I have been interested in getting involved with a swap for some time. I have been tying for a few years now and have a pattern or two dialed in. I would love to get into something a little on the smaller side, and am out for stoneflies. But if you guys do something smaller and need to fill a spot, i'd love to be in on it.

I can't speak for the others, but unlike the rest of the TGR forum the fishing forum guys seem less interested in post count.

Anyway, good to see there's interest. I would probably lean towards suggesting something a little on the easy side to tie to start with. That allows fly tiers of all skill levels get involved. But we can see where this thread goes and then make a decision from there.

I am in. I can tie some stone nymphs, but I still have stayed away from dries, although a stimulator is pretty easy to tie...as long as their are now fucking parachutes! I still can't get those right.

Anyhow, Schwerty, come on...I know you can do it. I bet you could sit down and crank out 2 dozen of a single pattern in less then 3 hours.

Can't argue Gretch. Wouldn't take me all that long. Problem is, if I have the energy to stay up at night to tie, after about the 6th one they are gonna go straight to shit. Whiskey seems to have a profound effect on the quality of my ties! But I'll get er done.
