    Subaru crash

I know there are a lot of Subaru owners here. Check out the news report on a Subaru crushed between two 18 wheelers, the guy wasn't even hurt....lucky.
The site the movie is on is NSFW but the video is fine.

I don't think it has anything to do with what he was driving.

More like being fucking lucky as hell.

Just replaced my '96 Ford Exploder (in which I recently survived a not-nearly-as-crazy accident) with a Subaru.

    Nice.

Friend rolled her Subie Outback on the way to Golden last winter, ended up rolling 2.5 times and finished on the roof. Took about 45 minutes for the tow truck, they got it flipped back on its wheels nad turned the key for a joke. Car fired up and they continued on to Golden, skied all weekend and drove back to Calgary on Monday - said they hardly even noticed an increase in wind noise.

Wonder what is in there for that to pop up? Im sure I get the same thing on NSFW links, but I am not trying at work.

    ASCS-is anything NSFW in there?

Locked in a Thule box, which blew off on the first roll - skis and board were fine. Tossed the box in the back of my truck for the rest of the trip.

The link is 100% safe for work (the mods on that forum are total Nazis when it comes to dodging the "swear filter" and posting NSFW stuff).

It's a link to a giant forum where the main topic of discussion is the Subaru Impreza. I'm guessing that software is set up to block most forums (maybe the TGR forum is small enough that it isn't on their list?)

    Thank god!!

It is becoming a bit more nazi like here too.

edit: just went directly into the Subi forum, so that link the nazis must not like.

    Question

    slight hijack....

did you WRX owners get fucked in the ass for insurance, or is insurance pretty cheap (as in comparable to the non-WRX impreza)?

Subarus are the best....my last car took me from New York to Salt Lake, to California north and south, up to Alaska (yes drove the whole way), around Alaska (home) and then back to Salt Lake, then a whole bunch of road trips. Somehow, my friends always voted my car as the vehicle of choice for camping, hiking, biking, and climbing trips. Hmm, wonder why, oh wait, I had the only Subaru. My favorite part is barrelling through snow around stuck trucks and little cars and other struggling SUVs like it's nothing. I always feel safe in crappy conditions, never had a problem in 6 inches of snow and ice and wind in Provo Canyon......

Sigh, weep with me (yes, I'm a geek, I know), I just traded in my best friend (Seamus, a green 1996 Outback with 205k miles, tons of memories, and a kick ass attitude) for a slutty Outback Sport. Hopefully this one will grow on me, and treat me as well as the last. Everyone: buy a Subaru.

Edit: my insurance for the Impreza (non-WRX) is about $10 more a month than my regular Legacy Outback wagon was. Not sure about the WRX....let me know, I might want one eventually. They're VERY nice.
This touchy-feely Kumbaya shit has got to go.

For a 25 year old, male driver with a minor accident (low speed rear-ending) ~3 years ago, and generous deductibles ($1000), my insurance is about $2000/year. It was about $800/year when I drove an older Toyota Camry.

Oh, and they charge you extra for the reach-around.

The insurance for my Dodge Ram is $CDN 1,500 and My Samurai is $CDN 1,300. That with the 45% discount and I'm a long way from 25.

Anyway, his surviving has nothing to do wth Subaru and everything to do with ducking.
If you have a problem & think that someone else is going to solve it for you then you have two problems.
