you can hear the helicopter in the background and guys telling crossman, collins, etc, "get to the heli, now!"
conditions look so money for a contest, so long as it's stable.

Snow debris at the bottom is really catching them by surprise. Might also be a problem for the lighter guys.

6 out of the first 7 women crashed I think? Looks like some super funky punchy snow at top with set-up debris at the bottom. Bummer cause Jacqui and Crystal looked to have solid runs until they went down.

    LCA FTW!

Sick run! I think Tabke lost out on some style when he got bucked into the back seat there. Tough conditions up there, only one 360, only a couple of the women stayed on thier feet all the way down. I think they just don't have the weight behind them to power through that chunder. Lots of rocks uncovered in landings too. Anyone who entered that center left high gnar section left nothing but rock in their wake.
There's nothing better than sliding down snow, and flying through the air

Gotta say it, super stoked to see my buddy and fellow Jay Peak Ski School coach Dominick Malaussena come in 11th over all. He got pre-qualified after winning last years Ski The East Freeride Tour and definitely stepped up his game. Not too bad a showing for his first ever trip skiing west of the Mississippi, somebody spancer this kid already!!

Awesome run by Lars. Griffin Post skied the same line, but he got spun around in his sluff. Lars let the snow go down and then followed it to the bottom nice and smooth. Here's a pic I took of Lars' run:

All the girls said the snow sucked, that it was really hard and unpredictable. The patrol did a lot of avy control before the comp started and, while they made it safe, they also cause most of the good snow to slide off. Tatum Monod, Jacqui Edgerly and Crystal Wright all bit it in pretty much the same place. For the guys, Sean Cochrane also went down at that spot after laying down an awesome start to his line.

Did Gord just get eaten by the slide debris?
Gord straight-line the debris, then crashed when he hit the powder at the end.

I think Griffin was a ways skiers right of Lars. He also had one of the best couple recoveries I've ever seen on film, right up there with Kaj in MSP a couple years ago. Unreal.

Lars killed it, that was a sick line with very little snow on it. Also props to Connery for putting down a sick run and moving way up in the ranks.

It was pretty cool watching this today. Lars charged that line and there were lots of big clean airs.
I just think Crystal Wright should have gotten a few more points on her last run than some of the other crashes... cost her a podium.

    Sam Cohen got the sickbird

Mr Gord's line was sooo fast!
