Once again a great home town Tr thread.
We took the snow cat up into Deer creek last Saturday. It is really deep up there! The Cat actually had trouble breaking trail even on the road. The Ski down was a blast!

June-uary Corn harvesting.
Record high temps pretty much killed the powder, but temps finally got below freezing overnight so corns-a-poppin.
boilerplate so why not bootpack for the first mile
view of the chute i did last week from another ridge
squint and you can see my line, someone did it during this past weekends heat wave and looks like they set off a few wet slides.
over the hump to Pahrump!

was hoping freeze thaw cycle the last week broke down the crust and some reconstituting happened. wind crusts from the storm earlier in the week were the problem instead.

checked out a new zone:
wife came along to try out her new snowshoes.
wind raped and nasty looking
this would be nice if there wasn't an evil windcrust lurking underneath
cut off to hit east facing chute for some corn, nice views from the top
and the other direction isn't looking bad either

If ye"all feel like a mission that requirs a 4x4, and camping?
I recommend telescope peak in death valley!
camp at mahogany flat, and use the walking trail.
Lookers left, along the ridge beside telescope peak has a shadow gully that may hold snow this year.
Its easy to scope it both on the drive up, and the walking trail.
Skiing snow in death valley? I've had people call bullshit on me to my face.
If I could find pic"s I'd post them. and I'm not even drunk! We, the RATBAGGERS, formally axcept our duty is to trigger avalaches on all skiers ...
