Starting on Rotte Freerides and Comps, I found that I could not go as low; I needed to adopt a more upright stance.
Despite all rumors, I still stand up to pee. Ha. Unless shit hits the fan.

IME, moving from 75 to NTN was similar to going from a rigid SS to a modern FS plastic bike. No big deal and fun to learn the adjustments of your technique and ultimately enjoying the new ride.

I love this! Also true for me. I was comfortable on 75, went to NTN when I got new skis because it made sense to get NTN bindings & boots at the same time, and I became a more capable skier. For me NTN feels tons less sloppy but my old 75 gear may have been clapped out. I love it and do not wish to revert.

Yeah, after skiing then a bit, they are like a less broken binding! I think my TRace/Axl combo was even stiffer but a low speed squat crash fucked my knee for 4 months and I *think* NTN woulda laterally released. I am constantly reminded as I still need to PT my knee if I want to have any fun outside. Oh and F reverting. I love my TXComps and this new boot has me curious

I’ll just say that once I picked up the NTN I haven’t put the duckbill boots back on. The difference in control is significant.

That said anyone need some EnerG 27.5 boots?! I’ve got two pairs that are gathering dust.

I’m tempted to grab a pair so I can fucking burn them. I have that boot and can never relax in them. My quads burn skiing to the damn parking lot. I mean, I’ll use them till I upgrade but man, they are weird.

Anyone interested in a well used pair of TX Comps 27/28.5 (forget which, BSL is 314mm) + Intuition power wraps? Got new boots a few seasons back and these have been collecting dust. There’s still life left in them, good for someone new or trying to make an affordable jump to NTN.

Heels are a bit worn down and there was some light modifications made cutting out some of the tongue shell piece and drilling new buckle holes to accommodate the thick liners. I have the original Intuition liners they came with but they are pretty smashed out

I dunno, I'm still using my candycane T-Race's with OG Bishop Bombers which are arguably more solid than any of my NTN setups.

That describes a lot of my tele skiing friends. Can you be more specific?

Actually, you're sitting on an early edition of the Tx Pros, before they removed the tech heels. Peruvian has been searching for those.

As for NTN, I tried the Freerides once and wasn't for me. Outlaw and Lynx, however, are God's gift to going low or light or both. Opinions will vary.

If they were 28.5's I'd buy both pairs. I LOVE my Ener-G's.

I am not fitting into the Crispi XRs. I'm a straight 11 in shoes. Fey bros recommended a 28. WAY too small. Walked around in them for an hour and my toes were on fire. I sent them back and they recommended I go up to a 29. WAY too big. I'm swimming in them. Going to have to send them back. I suppose I should have them send me a 28.5, but if those don't fit I'll be at like $90 in shipping to try on 3 pairs of boots.

Alpine is sounding better and better to me. There's a great boot fitter one town away from me.

Got some free kid gear from a buddy few years ago, my 10 y/o gave it a try for a few hours on Monday. Starting making pretty good turns on greens, novelty started wearing off once we ventured to some blues. Lasted about 2 hours until she wanted to switch back to alpine for rest of the day. Did play around in the yard w some xc skis and trying to drop a knee later on though.

Having another tele skier notice in line and mention a “little tele ripper” or similar goes a long way to keeping interest.

That’s what inspired her. We saw a girl her age on tele earlier that weekend. Will keep at it for mellow ski days when skiing w mom. She’s a ski racer and loves the park, so doubtful this is more than an occasional thing. Is handy in my area for some light XCD kind of skiing close to home though.

NGL there’s something great about seeing kids on tele gear.
