Starting to feel like an open book regarding new ski selection.

My daily drivers are full camber mantras, which are a bit long for me. When I’m skiing steep 2d snow, I’m not able to get the ski to bend as much as I’d like making tele turns.

Bibby’s are my resort soft snow ski - love em, and liberty vmt 76 are my groomer zoomers, which are much more versatile for me than just for groomers.

I have been considering/planning on a 108-ish playful charger-type ski, but am now thinking about a replacement for the mantras with something more modern and similar-ish width to the mantras….

Playful charger or more of just charger at a length that I can flex. Eg dynastar m-free vs m-pro. I like the playfulness of the bibby’s.and seem to adapt to either progressive or traditional mounts. I have access to some proforms.

Buddy just mounted some NTN outlaws on the Manti. Haven’t heard yet how he likes them.

The 182 woodsman 108 I have mounted with Outlaw X (I would sell them) is reasonably “playful” but still has a long enough radius to let ‘em run long. They ski slightly longer than Ripstick and still turn pretty quick, I think due to the upturned tail rise. They can slash pretty well.

Overall, they are quiver overlap w the Ripstick 106 and a decent daily driver for the Rockies.

I have not heard of the manti, but will try to check out. 182 woodsman 108, how much do you weigh? I’m ~155.

Prior to mantras, I had explosives. They were shorter than my mantras, and I never had issues getting them to bend, even in steep, hard pack terrain, where I’m skiing slow.

Got some tele paraphernalia to get back into it after a nearly 10 year hiatus. Spent a lot of time deciding what skis to use, and ended up buying 177 full-rocker Mantras from a guy in Fernie. They were my east-coast DD for a few years and I'm hoping that familiarity translates over. We shall see

I’m also on Nordica Enforcer 100s. I skied and loved full-camber Mantras for years and found a decade old pair still in plastic here on TGR at the same time as I bought the Enforcers. Hate to say but I hardly ever ski the Volkls. Still love them but they’re just not as versatile at the Nordicas. Boots and bindings are TX Comp and BMF/R FWIW.

Before the Enforcers I had as DDs: DPS Foundation 106, Monster 98 (trying to replicate full-camber mantras), Legend X106 (broke two pair), multiple Gotamas. Gots were closest to the Enforcers, but Enforcers still get my vote.

Thanks for highlighting the enforcer 100’s. Blister indicates when the model didn’t change for many years and when there was a slight change.

Something eye opening to me about modern design on all-mountain skis was in observing a friend this past weekend. On older (heavier version) of 172cm k2 mindbender 99ti. 5’8”, 185lb. Fixed heel this weekend, very good skier (top 5 skier on the mtn this weekend outside of terrain park, probably best on the hill over 40+ - saying a lot for mammoth). He was nimbly/easily able to navigate barely edgeable steep chalk/sastrugi/hard pack mix, to high speed hero snow mixed with random sastrugi, to shin deep old dry snow, to very high speed groomers, lots of turn shapes and radius. The shortest skis he’s ever had, and he was very surprised how well they skied (especially at high speed) for such a short length.

I have Enforcers100 and love them but they lack the energetic life of TStix96, maybe it's the camber of the TStix? I also don't feel like the tails of the Enforcers have much energy. Rain crusted 3d slop was no prob for the Enforcers and woulda most def been more work on TStix.
