Nope, it's every Tuesday home game- so this year that includes:

LAD, SF, NYM, SF, ARI, SD, CWS, ATL, PHI, FLA, HOU, ARI, SD.

Those are all night games except one day game- the stupid catch is that it only includes ONE beer per game even though it includes two tickets. Kind of ghey, but we deal.

The best part is, they increased the package price this year- last year it was $175.

I like that team though. The Marcum acquisition is great- saw him pitch a lot for TOR and was very surprised they let him go. Obviously getting Greinke is good, but they had to give up quite a bit to get him (whereas Lawrie seems more like an every-day player but not a star).
Yeah they switched in 1998, which I actually liked because the Milwaukee Braves were in the National League. After the last few years Brewer fans were more than happy to give up most of the prospect players to get good pitching. Suffering through three plus years of pitchers like Jeff Suppan, Manny Parra, and Braden Looper will do that to a fan. Cain had potential in the outfield, but he was going against other mediocre at best outfielders so I really don't know how good he is. Now the SS, Escobar, was the one player I didn't want to see go, but considering the upgrade in pitching it was worth it for Brewer fans.

Maybe this will be the year that Rickie Weeks will actually be as good as everyone thought originally.

1 beer is what, 5-6 bucks?
So you pay a couple bucks per ticket???

I assume they are all shit match-ups that no one would pay to go see?

My 8 set of tickets cost me $702 and I didn't even get exceptional seats. I'm easily going to spend over a unit going to Sox games this year just in ticket prices. Jesus fuck I hate Fenway prices.
No shit. That Rockies deal is AMAZING!

Boston's not cheap. I just left the Garden and a ticket to Sunday's game against Miami... $269. No thanks.

Ohh god forbid you have to split $10 tickets to go to a game.

He was pretty damn good last year, and that was coming off injury. If he gives them 80% of the production this year then he'll still be a major contributor. Bigger issue is, of course, whether they get 2009 Fielder or 2010 Fielder.

Another issue for the Brewers: the stink of Yuniesky Betancourt. He is not a major leaguer.

bump because one day soon we'll get stories about something other than how hard everyone is working and how much weight they've lost.

Yep, you'll have to wait another couple weeks before the starters play more than 3 innings and the pitchers throw more than 50 pitches. But damn, it's nice to see baseball on TV and in the news.

Anyone going to PHX or FL for Spring Training? I would LOVE to fly out to Phoenix to check out the Rockies and D-Backs' new digs in Scottsdale, but it isn't happening this year. I spent too much on my Rockies ticket package (shown above).

I'm just pricing out a trip for my wife and I to go down at the end of the month. Very much looking forward to it.

The Giants are concidering dumping Zito and his salary. Worst signing in the last 15 years?

Gary Matthews Jr., Juan Pierre, Mike Hampton, and Denny Neagle would like a spot in that competition.

I thought he was only below average for one month last season... seems like a waste of a perfectly good inning eater, unless by dump they mean trade plus serious cash. Realistically, an average starter seems to get about 8-12M / year now, so he's not even close to the worst signing ever.

    Didn't say ever, my friend.

Based on past history and expectations, it's a huge disppointment. Yes, his numbers are about an average to under average 5th starter/inning eater type guy. But he's owed 18.5 million this season, 39 million through '13 and a 7 million buyout. He's 40-57 with the Giants. It was made as a feel good move after Bonds left and it drags down the entire organization. This isn't the Yankees. The owners don't fork out for whoever they want. They have admitted that they didn't go after some big bats because of Zito's money. It was a horrble signing

Vernon Wells found a new home, I think there's some hope for Zito and the Giants. If he can be league average, someone will eat that contract.

    his monthly ops against 21/124/98/93/169.

It seems like something is just really wrong when he loses it. I don't watch Giants games but if I was his pitching coach I would put a lot of resources into figuring out if he's dropping his arm angle or doing something else that is causing his strikeouts to go down 1.5 per 9 and get lit up in the horrible stretches. I dunno, when his curve is on he's such a pleasure to watch. I can't feel bad for anyone with 150 Million bucks, but it'd be great for the fans if he could recapture at least a little bit of consistency and finish out his contract strong.

Liriano to NYY? What say the collective?

Personally, as a Twins fan, I would only be open to this trade if we got Banuelos or Montero in exchange. His durability scares me and giving him a long term deal seems too risky a move for the Twins front office, which I agree with. The Yankees, on the other hand, are desperate for quality starting pitching right now and obviously have $$ to spend. Id rather get something for him now than nothing for him at the end of the year.

This is exactly why I can't listen to sports radio. One year of Liriano (plus extension) for Montero? Fucking retarded. And they're actually pumping this shit on ESPN. Dude would hit 25 hr's in the majors this season and guess what - his defense isn't as bad as advertised.

If only management weren't equally as retarded as most fans (i'm looking at you Steinbrenner/Soriano).

I was really pissed the Dodgers let Juan Pierre go two off-seasons ago. He was stellar when Manny got suspended for steroids. He was so good in fact, a lot of people thought Manny should have sat when he came back. Manny imploded last year of course, and for most of last year and all of this one we essentially have nobodies in left field. I would gladly have JP back.

ml242, that's what you get for listening to the fucking idiots on ESPN. Those guys are ALL about spreading rumors and making everything into gossip central. They don't even fucking cover real games anymore, they'd rather report that the Cubs were talking about Charlie Sheen in the dugout before the game.

Do yourself a favor and get your baseball coverage from CNNsi.com and MLB Network.

I love Zito. I watched him during his glory days with the A's and I agree, there's nothing better than watching a hitter bail out on that huge uncle charlie. It's just been sooooo frustrating to watch. He came out of the gates last year dealing and got my hopes up- only to implode. There were rumblings that Rags tried to mess with his motion, but Barry wasn't too receptive.

I'm starting to think the Giants leaked that out as a kick in the ass to Barry. I figure him as the number 5 (even though he'll be in the 4th spot to fit Bochy's RH-LH-RH formula). No way he loses out to Suppan.

Ah, went for a run the other day and the local JC was playing a game. Ended up standing at the right field fence for 20 minutes transfixed. I can't wait for the everyday companion that is baseball to be back in full swing!

Well, not really GOING to FL......but I went to the Rays opening day game vs. the Pirates in Port Charlotte and also opening days for the Orioles vs. the Rays in Sarasota. Sarasota just spent 28M on a hudge renovation of the Cincinnati Reds old digs. It is really nice. Saw Manny hit a homer. The Orioles are going to surprise the AL East this year, they have really improved.

Trade of Liriano for Montero doesn't make sense from the Twins standpoint. Thay already have Mauer who is only 27.

Even when I see speculation I have to jump on the news to see if the trade happened. I really, really, really don't want the Yankees to give up Montero for anybody. Especially a pitcher, even if that's the most glaring need. He's basically the second coming of Pujols.
