If I didn't bring my kids I wouldn't have an issue. It's not near as bad as Shea in the late eighties or MSG for Rangers vs Flyers games but I was never afraid of getting stabbed leaving the stadium.

Maybe I watch too much gangland on the Nat Geo channel but there is an abundance of hispanics with tattoos on their necks and heads that seem to be willing to die for Los Doyers.

I'm not getting into a fight with my three kids there. It really wouldn't set a great example. And if you have never left the stadium with a bunch of drunken thugs threatening you while walking back to your car, you need to eat a bag a dicks. You can bust my balls all you want but not my eight year old for wearing a Phillies hat.

It doesn't happen when they lose only when they win. Looks like that won't be a problem this year as the Doyers may forfeit all the games this year due to the tremendous pitching staff Philly has assembled.

Learn from my mistake- before purchasing cheap bleacher tickets to a Dodgers game, look at a calendar and make sure it isn't May 5th. How does one smuggle a donkey through security, anyway?

I'm sure everyone is now a Giants fan, sending tickets through the roof. Same thing happened in Philly after they won the World Fucking Championship. Last year i got tickets five rows up from the dugout for $45 apiece. I bet they go for over a hundred now. Too bad they play Oakland at home during inter-league. You can go to an A's for virtually nothing.

LA is gangland central and tickets are pricey because you have to sit low to avoid said gangbangers.
My boy went to Chavez with his mom when he was 8 wearing a Bonds jersey. I asked him how it went and he just said, "Some people yelled at me, but I just ignored them." You guys will be fine.

Oh and the A's/Giants do a series in each park every year, so you can always go to the Coloseum.

I forget...isn't Woodsy a Mets fan? How's that going for you?
He's a Dodger's fan. Trust me on this one...

Dodger fan, how's that going for you?

Two years ago I went to an A's vs Tigers game and sat front row by the bullpen. The highlight was getting to see Zumaya warm up. You could hear the stitching on the bar practically rip apart. During the game he threw 104. We got tickets at the box office for twenty two bucks.

Dodger Stadium is pretty tame. It's not what it used to be when the O'Malleys ran it though. Back then it was a class act, ALWAYS. The ushers enforced the rules firmly but with a smile, and everyone was pretty damn happy. It's slipped a bit since then, but it's nowhere near as bad as other venues I've been too. Perhaps I'm just jaded after attending Raiders games in LA...where you genuinely feared for your life even if you were a Raiders fan...but it's nowhere near that level. The treatment I get at Giants games in AT&T is much worse than the treatment Giants fans get at Dodger Stadium.

What's really funny is that a Philly fan is criticizing an LA fan, especially considering the fact that we've never boo'ed a player as he lays motionless on the field.

The walk back to the car can be a lot worse than the stadium itself. The bleachers can get rowdy but they are DRY. No alcohol is served in the Pavillions (or at least used to be, dunno if McCourt changed it) and while people go nuts I've seen worse things happen up top. Wearing an opposing jersey in the stadium isn't a big deal. Avoid View Reserve and Top Deck but if you need tickets on the cheap go for the Pavillion.

The walk back to the car wearing that stuff after a big win or a big loss can sometimes be bad. Unless you react to the provocation nothing will happen, but I have seen people yelling all kinds of F-bombs and nasty things even if kids are around. Still, the walk back to the car isn't as terrifying as the walk out of the old Vet down the street to all the underlit shady parking lots. That was some sketchy shit - I woulda given you the same shit that Woodsy did about being afraid of Chavez Ravine for this fact had you not mentioned your kids.

The only bummer about the Pavillion is because it's physically isolated from the rest of the stadium, you never get the full experience of the views and the concourse which are pretty cool. It's a very unique stadium with awesome sunset views.

There's also dipshits in every stadium. Even in the "classy" AT&T Park that sells wine and sushi, like Arty said. I hadn't heard overtly racist shit in a loooong time until some drunk ass Giants fans seeing my blue Dodgers shirt kept calling me Ishii and to go back home or to go hang out in Seattle with Ichiro ... on more than one occasion. Seriously???

I think it's really unfair to lump phillies fans, flyers fans and sixers fans (both of em) with crass, drunk asshole eagles fans.

Going to a Phillies game if you are a fan of an opposing team (aside from the Mets) is really not a problem. You might get jeered a bit but if you respect that game and don't act like a jackass nobody will bother you. At an eagles game if you aren't enough of an eagles fan you are going to get cursed out.

And plus...I didn't hear Mrs. Lee, Mrs. Oswalt or Mrs. Holliday complainging about beer and curses being dumped on them in CPB now did I?....

BTW: Jimmy Rollins packed 12 bags to sring training. WTF J-Roll. 12 duffel bags? Hopefully 10 of them are spare calfs. We can't have you playing only 80 games this year and batting 200.

No sarcasm needed. Rays were the AL East Champion in 2008 and 2010. Nobody thought they would do anything then either. They have strong starting pitching and have added a couple of veterans, so that's my prediction. /end Fanboy blog

Now without rose colored glasses - Sox have seriously upgraded, they should recover from all the injuries last year but it remains to be seen which Beckett will show up this year. Yankmees could easily suck this year. One starting pitching breakdown and their rotation will be terrible. Do they even have a lefthanded starter to compete in the AL East? Toronto and even Baltimore have all improved in the offseason so I don't see Boston or the Rays running away from anybody. There is no doubt that the AL east is the strongest division in baseball. Should be a fun year.

burnett has significant personal problems last year. He is due for a rebound.

    CC...'nuff said

Hughes....serviceable at least, potential to be very good.

Garcia is a legit 4th/5th starter, 12-6 sub 5 era last year.

5th spot is very shaky...likely mitre.

Not a great staff by any means, but better than most, 1-3.

Relief you have Soriano leading to Rivera.

So...some concern...yeah, but hardly any reason to be pulling your hair out. Better staff than the Sox, especially in the pen.

so who is going to see NKOTB w/ BSB at Fenway? Talk about a crazy night! Whooooo!

I think the sox are going to be fine this year, I really like the crawford deal and obviously signing AGon was huge.

Manny and Damon on the Rays, gonna be great to see them at Fenway a bunch this year.

Git yur gameface on, Gameface! Lucky man.

Funny story.. last week my wife was flying back from Florida and seated next to a very tall black gentleman. They chat and then change planes in Atlanta, both continuing to Boston. They walked together and people start approaching this guy asking for his autograph, so my wife says, "Are you somebody famous?"

He replies, "Yes, I'm Jim Rice." She says, "Oh, who did you play for?" (Jesus honey!!!)

He then proceeds to tell her she what she has to do for our daughters 13 b-day party. Seems he was listening in to my wife and daughter discuss her plans while seated together. So contrary to popular press reports, he was super nice and now I've got an autograph from Jim Rice to Big Daddy... end blog.

Burnett is like watching Kyle Farnsworth, but starting the game. I hope he pulls a Meche, I have ZERO faith in him.

8 game packs in the picture. Plus, I have 5 games, 4 seats behind home plate from a friend who has season tickets lined up and I can get tix to pretty much any game I want to see for face value as I have a buddy with a 4 seat season tickets and he always gets rid of at least 2 if not 4. This is going to be a very heavy Sox season for me. Being able to walk to the park (1.7 miles) is an added bonus.

Now that the Packers finished their Superbowl run I'm ready for the Brewers to start their run for the NL Central. I do wish there was a rivalry like the Packers have with the Bears and Vikqueens. The closest the Brewers have is the Cubs, but the Cubs are really more rivals with the Cardinals. The Twins could be fun, but with them being in the AL a rivalry really doesn't make a lot of sense.

Anyone else here in Denver get the Guys Night Out package? This is my third year and it's near impossible to beat the deal they give us... 13 games, two tickets and a beer to each, for $200. Plus, my seats are now in the FIRST ROW down the RF line, so I'm never giving them up. I'll be showing my face at about 20 games this year.

Kinda hard when the team's only been in the division for what, 14 years?

I like that team though. The Marcum acquisition is great- saw him pitch a lot for TOR and was very surprised they let him go. Obviously getting Greinke is good, but they had to give up quite a bit to get him (whereas Lawrie seems more like an every-day player but not a star).

    Jesusfuckingchrist!

    Let's do the math.
    200 / 13 = $15.38 per game for 2 tickets.
    15.38 / 2 = $7.69 per ticket
1 beer is what, 5-6 bucks?
So you pay a couple bucks per ticket???

I assume they are all shit match-ups that no one would pay to go see?

My 8 set of tickets cost me $702 and I didn't even get exceptional seats. I'm easily going to spend over a unit going to Sox games this year just in ticket prices. Jesus fuck I hate Fenway prices.
