The Salt Lake Film Society held a screening saturday at the Gateway. It was intense without falling into the torture porn category and plenty capable of keeping your attention after reading the book/knowing the story. Franco does a great job personifying Ralston's douchebaggedness, and while it seems at times that Boyle was trying a little too hard to make it oscar fodder, it's still absolutely worth seeing.
I finally got around to seeing this a few weeks ago in Reno. Kick-ass flick that totally keeps your attention despite knowing the outcome.
Danny Boyle and James Franco totally pull it off...I was on the edge of my seat, brought to tears, and enthralled for the entire length. Definitely worth seeing.
Enjoyed the movie... and made me decide to start writing where I ride on a whiteboard so people know where I am.
Dookey nailed it, really an emotional roller-coaster. I think they portrayed him well, as a person who made mistakes but also did something extraordinary to survive.
