Best festival concert ever. So many good bands. Highlights for me where Black Cobra, Yob, Elder, Electric Wizard. Best new bands (to me) Yawning Man + Fatso Jetson, Desert Mountain Tribe, 1000mods, Truckfighters!

That's quite the list. I've been enjoying 1000mods and truckfighters, I'll look into the other two.

It's cool to see subrosa on that list

Took advantage of that TM settlement and scored my free lawn tix to see Def Leppard, REO Speedwagon & Tesla.
I love me some Tesla but unfortunately missed half their set fighting the traffic.
Hadn't seen REO since 1980 and haven't missed 'em. Too many ballads but Ridin' The Storm Out was fun.
And while not a big a fan of Def Leppard, (On Through The Night rules!!!), they do have their moments.

i'm always surprised to find really excellent bands that i otherwise never heard. 1000mods reminded me of kyuss a bit. truckfighters were amazing live. so much energy, pure rock. i liked subrosa too but the death metal vocals from one of the violinists just made me chuckle a few times.

i would rock out to that show. i saw def leppard open for ozzy/randy back in 1981. on through the night was solid NWOBHM. high and dry was pretty good too. i even saw pyromania back in the day.

Late to the party tagging, but second.

Saw Sammy in Tahoe in august, he's 68 and still brings it; will definitely try and go next year if he comes again.

Buddy Guy is incredible, and puts on a great show. Saw him a few years ago, and was sitting on the end of an aisle. His guitar was about 6" from my face while he was playing a riff while wandering around through the audience. Cool experience.

Yeah, we'll see how she likes the satanic worship ritual gimmick.

You'll have to do a TR. The Demi Moore/Patrick Swayze movie was too intense for me... I can't imagine going to a live reenactment of it... 😉

Ancient Warlocks rule! Seen em twice at my lil neighborhood saloon. They're in my hood again this year when I'll be out of town... might have to make a different venue. Port Angeles maybe.

It's a twofer with Opeth. Have you heard their new album(s)? Opeth obviously has strayed far from the death metal path, but so has The Sword. :-/

It's all fanciful prog rock now. If you like Jefferson Airplane, Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater I guess the new stuff is good. The new Opeth album is a little better than the last two, some doomy elements here and there, but still closer to satanic jazz than death metal.

Desert Trip with The Who, Rolling Stones, Roger Waters (he only played Pink Floyd songs), Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney. RS and NY were the best of the trip. Bob was the only one who gave the impression that he's old and past his prime. The rest were jaw-dropping on how energetic they still were.

Pic was before Neil Young's set. 75,000 white old farts and one black dude.
