Trying to mix a ski trip and concert for the last weekend of August. Flying out to Portland for Aug-Sept turns. The Breeders are also playing that weekend and the show is sold out. Anyone know of anyways of getting tix without paying more 3x times face value with Tickets reselling sites?

We saw Max Creek last night in Ludlow, MA at the fish and game club. I took my son and wife's cousin (they're 19). My kid has seen the creek before (he was a child) and was rightfully blown away by scott murawskis playing. He is just ridiculously good. I've been seeing them since I was younger than my kid. Kinda cool for me to go creekin with him.

Headed to Tanglewood again monday, some friends invited us to see Grace. Love Tanglewood, the weather is going to be awesome, and while the Nocturnals arent exactly my cup of tea musically, i always like to get some pictures of GP. Anyone else going?

Wife's cousin saw Todd Rundgren Friday and said he was fantastic. Not surprising at all.

Queens of the Stone Age at Red Rocks was amazing. Loved them since the beginning, and in between.

After that show, Jam bands and Techno sucks.

Winwood supporting the Allmans in Hartford Saturday. Both bands were great but holy shit are the brothers firing on all cylinders. Decided to road trip to winnepesaukee to see them again tomorrow (and drink and ski and whatnot). They just jam ridiculously hard, like usual.

They put blue sky back in the lineup after not playing it for years after booting Dickie. Fun times at the Brothers. Go see them. .

Caught World Party Thursday night. It was so good that we came back for seconds Friday night. Great venue to see anybody on your list, City Winery in NYC. High end bar restaurant with a stage. Got to hang with the band after the show.... Super cool guys. Much fun was had... Paying dearly for it today.

Saw these guys at this crazy little festival on a farm by the ocean in Mass. this past Saturday.

    and these guys:

Nikki Glaspie plays drums for both. Had a nice chat with Ivan Neville, cool guy.

But probably the highlight of the festival was these guys, Dynasty Electric:

"Chrissie Hynde on acid" was the best description I came up with. Outstanding.

About 20 other bands too. Cool event.

Went to the Bridge School Benefit last weekend. It ranged from a serious meh in Elvis Costello, to fantastic, with sets from Tom Waits (Les Claypool on the bass!) and My Morning Jacket - including a Neil Young appearance to sing Oh Sweet Nuthin' in memory of Lou Reed. Neil Played a few songs with Heart, who was also a pretty good show for as old as they are.

It was fucking good all around. Great day, I suggest you go see it if theres a good lineup.

Finally got a chance to see Zakir Hussain the other night at the KKL in Luzern with "Remember Shakti". Four incredible musicians with vocalist. Definitely worth a look if they come near you.

listen to the death dont have no mercy from saturday night. (watchtower-->DDHNM)

you and I both know it isnt about the vocals, they get those out of the way so they can jam. Did you see phil signed on to play the cap and brooklyn bowl for 45 shows in 2014. that and TXR. as i age, band residencies and VIP packages are the order of the day.

I saw Built To Spill @ State Theater in Ithaca on Sat.

The highlight of the evening was how fucked up I got myself. First time in years I've had to abandon a freshly poured beer...had to pull the chute.

Acoustics weren't fantastic and I was a mess, so not the greatest experience. Last time I saw them they blew the roof off the joint (different venue with great acoustics)

Saw Gary Clark Jr. last night. This guy is getting labeled as "the future of texas blues" but I don't really get it. Talented, sure. The guitar work was flashy in spots but mostly when there was a break he could run with, he didn't. To me the show was unfocused and self-indulgent. Plus he played his guitar through a synth most of the time, I like the way guitars sound personally. He does have a really good voice for soul though. I'd give it a B, the wife really dug it though so what do I know?
