going to see steve miller in December, which is twice this year for me; at some indian casino in Durant OK. had never thought indian casinos would bring in decent talent but that place has him, styx, zz top coming. lots of big names in the old fogies concerts lists.

Trey at Carnegie Hall last night did not suck. Heading to work with 3 1/2 hours sleep, does.
Conan was amazing as was also Un and Sixes. Sixes was actually louder than Conan. That's gotta be a first.
Jon's a super nice guy chatted for a while before and signed my album. Hung out with Sixes and Un afterwards. Super chill dudes despite the scary doom metal personas.

Delbert McClinton's playing the little club up the street. It's sold out, we'll be there. Nice to have a little venue that gets decent artists super close to the house.
Shit was TIGHT!

The Motet last night was fun. Great funky jam band with solid horn work.
Warm up band, Star Kitchen, was just as good.

Saw the North Mississippi All-stars night before last in DC, what a good show. You can’t really categorize them, it’s sort of a country blues meets jam band meets delta blues thing, it’s really their own deal. They have fun with it, lots of interaction with a very tuned-in and appreciative audience all night, joking around, telling little brief stories as intros to songs, not too much but just enough.
Luther is an amazing guitarist, he can make that thing do whatever he wants. On slide he’s just ridiculous. And Cody on percussion is so on it, fat fat beats all night. His washboard “drum solo” was mind-bending, truly. Actually amazing.
I highly recommend you see them, check your expectations at the he door, and just dig it.
^^New Years Eve at the Capitol Theater would be fun.
Aiming to catch RATM in Phoenix in March. Any mags going?
Fucking SLAYER! Last night in the Springs was the best show I have been to in a long time. All four bands killed it. Phil played Pantera set and back-up band was decent. Ministry was sonic overload(Jesus Built My HotRod was a night highlight, maybe my favorite moment). Primus played to the night (re: harder like the old days). Shortened a bunch of songs to get a taste of more songs, all older ones. And Slayer killed...again. Played quite a mix and a bit different than the last time. Over good crowd minus a couple knuckleheads and a huge pit that almost went side-to-side toward the end. If this was truly the last time, a great send off.
Photo not uploading, but just a typical shot.
Earth. Even better the second time this year.
