    The CONCERT thread

We saw Phil and Phriends with Larry Campbell, Luther Dickinson, Barry Sless, nicki bluhm, Theresa Williams , Molo, Jason Crosby, and Phil. Sometimes it clicks and this version did it for me. If you can j focus on the playing and not obsess about setlist it's really solid.

Saw DSO Last weekend. Got too drunk somehow and was demolished by Space.

Yeah, when I saw FM recently I was so impressed. You just don't hear much about the guy.

So clearly Derek has little to no interest in an ABB reunion and Warren has said it isn't something he has any plans for either.

Jim James in Minneapolis last night. Really, really great show -- the well of talent seemed bottomless -- still trying to figure out how something so totally trippy could be so tight. If you go, don't miss the warm up band -- Twin Limb -- two gals and a guy making an enormous wall of good sounds.

    Went to this on Saturday:
Pretty fun show. The first two bands were more my style than upwell but they had Jack Endino playing with them so that was kinda cool.

There was a 2 foot bong raffled off...

At the Urban Lounge in SLC last wednesday:

    Red Fang
    Torche
    Whores

Was good. Was loud! Saw a tangerine TGR hat in the audience

Nathaniel Rateliff and the Nightsweats killed it at the Ogden in Denver last night. He's playing again tonight, I recommend it highly.

    The CONCERT thread

    Judge me.
I went to Mariah Carey Christmas concert at Beacon Theater in Upper West and it was stupid fun.
It did lift my Christmas spirit and I would do it again... maybe a year later.

Tonight we saw Anders Osborne with the Chris Jacobs Band. Anders was good, into it, all good there. Chris Jacobs is good as shit. Acoustic with anders, Chris Jacobs Band backing Anders, Chris Jacobs Band on their own, it was all excellent if you like rock and roll music.

Sounds awesome! On the same note (Haha) just saw Anders, Jackie Greene and Hayes Carll in a 'songwriters in the round' type gig. Fuckin phenomenal. Funny, great improv and chemistry.

Skip that and go to Green River instead. That venue in Marshfield is ass. Worst crowd and venue of the year. I think I caught lung cancer there that day.

Ah shit, that is a bummer. Thanks for the heads up. I'm all about the venue and I just assumed Dispatch would have picked a decent place to play.
