i had to look it up to verify but i just realized that i saw him when he was about 15 too. i remember a friend taking me to a bar in orlando to see this kid play. there must have only been about 20 people there and he killed it. everyone was stoked. i never heard about him again until only a few years ago, then again i have been way out of the loop.

Steve Earle is the man! At ACL a few years ago Steve was playing just before Neil Young, but on different stages. So I had the choice of staying to watch Steve from the front row, center, or leaving so I could find a spot to barely see Neil. I chose Steve, and it was worth it.

While waiting for Steve, his drummer came over and chatted up the chick I was standing next to. She told me she was a groupie, and goes to all their shows.

Caught a sold out Lumineers show the other night. They put on a quality performance and everyone seemed to like them a lot.

I'm a deadhead so the lack of any finger picking on a guitar over the course of the evening bored me to tears.

Mumfordy is how I'd describe them

Yeah, my youngest went up to that show. They seem very talented, but like you I wouldn't jump out to see them live.

Caught Donavon Frankenreiter the other night local. It was good fun. Tom Curren opened with a few mellow songs and the whole time I was just thinking how I wish I was watching him surf instead. The guy is a legend!

You heading to DSO in your backyard?

The venue where Lumineers played is awesome, main reason I went was to go to a show there

Yeah, I'm coming up for DSO. We should meet up for a beer!

I went over to Bissell Brothers new place which is right next to Thompson Point venue. That area is up and coming for Portland...very nice addition to a cool town.

Sounds good, hope the forecast improves. The venue they're playing is shitty enough without it raining on it

Ah crap, I haven't been there yet. Was hoping it was decent place. It's right on the water, so I was hoping. Maybe too industrial? Or is it too cramped?

There is a handful of people we know that will be there. My wifes cousins live in the area, so they'll be there with all their friends also.

If they put all the bands I want to see on one day I would go. Just too much for me anymore. However, if I was to take up amphetamines again...

Bingo! It's wicked narrow and the sound/light board is bossy. Hard to move around.

Shitty beer and food to boot. You want it to be good cuz it's on the water but it's not. The staff is nice tho.

GA shows are the only way I'll go there. With dso I don't need to see them up close, just need good sound to dance with.

If you get up very close and want to go take a pee or get a beer it's a pain in the balls to get back to where u were.

Just went to slightly stoopid there and got handed some vip duckets which helped greatly.

It'll be a wicked good time bub! I'll check in with you about pre game plans.

I will probably go sunday for Leftover Crack, and stay for Misfits. Leftover Cracks is awesome, and the Misfits will be cool to see the Original 3 together but Danzig is on the downhill slide (IMHO).

DSO played 10-9-76 last night in Portland. What an awesome set list...damn! The Who opened for those shows...to have been there live in '76 would have been pretty special.

Almost met up with Ticketchecker. Never found another friend either, but bumped into others randomly. Classic show scene. Little toasty for my arse, but water was plentiful thank goodness.

In the last couple weeks I've seen Steve Kimock and Jerry Joseph at the Sweetwater, Dead & Company at Shoreline, Gregory Alan Isakov at the Wild Buffalo, and The Pink Slips/Alice In Chains/Guns n Roses at CenturyLink. Pretty good stretch of music.

I seen Buffy Sainte-marie at the Edge of the World festival on Haida Gwai last week

I didn't realize she had written all the hit songs or that she had been black listed by both the johnson & nixon administrations which is awesume credentials

she is still rocking at age 75 and she looked good!

Run DMC at Musikfest in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
It was great to see them still doing their thing.
Jam Master Jay's son was the DJ.
