I haven't seen MOE, but they're on the list.

Getting tossed for moving to a vacant seat? Wtf is up with that...total bs. That place does suck.

Dirty Heads this friday in my hometown...which is always nice...and the best part is my friends band Todo Bien is opening for them.

DSO will be around in a month.

    whoa MMP, that fucking blows.
i've seen a fair number of show's at the Calvin, and never had a problem.
i had beef at SPAC this summer with a dickhead security.
let's face it security guard as a job, prolly did not get past the 10th grade.
lot of mouth breathing in that line of work.

guess where i wont be seeing DSO dec 5th.

i have a really good idea how to move around a venue, how to treat ushers and security personnel (nicely, like everyone that isn't a dick), and how to not interfere with others enjoyment of the show, whether moving to a better seat or taking a couple pictures up close before heading back. I know I'm not special and should stay in my seat, but isn't there room for any common sense anymore?

i wish i didn't forfeit the high ground so i could call the owner, whom I know, and tell him how much his people can suck.

Same here, but mostly those are shows that are wilder than a sit down acoustic fucking guitar show.. so more goes. moving to an empty seat? He gently tapped me and had me stand up and walked me out. ridiculous. The owner's venues are always tight on things like smoking, since its so verboten in northampton, but I am a decent customer that is going to have a problem spending my money there (pearl street, iron horse, mountain park,....)

edit: SPAC as a venue has deteriorated in the experience to a degree where I dont really care for it anymore. It isn;t the 80's anymore.

I couldn't go anyways (even without the boycott). Black-tie holiday party in NYC, as if that's what I want to be doing...one of these days we'll get it together at a show.

but pretty amazing and awesome that you got to see the Allman's last tour, and at the Beacon!!!
Some people get their religion at church. Experiences like the Beacon shows are close as I get (well skiing of course).

It was truly awesome. Great friends, all of it. Moving.

Agreed and a bit jealous, I really wanted to catch one of the run. Apparently they replayed the final show on XM today but I didn't catch it. I saw some reviews but really don't pay much attention to those unless they are from somebody I know, too many haters and noobs to make heads or tails of any show....Hmm, sounds like tgr.

So did the security dnozzle take a pic of you on the way out to post on their wall of shame ;-)!

Phil and Phriends at the Capitol Theater in Portchester NY. Wild ride. Sick band. There were some pretty amazing Halloween shows around the country. Govt Mule played 29 Neil Young songs last night.

Toumani's pretty amazing, his work with Ali Farka Toure and his son Vieux's pretty awesome.

Have a layover in ATL next Saturday, may catch Carl Palmer of ELP fame at the Variety...

She did. And good thing. I was a borderline Set 1 casualty. But applying the tele skiing adage "it's all about the save", recovered well.

Before the show we ate at Mario Battali's Terra Lodge. Really, really tasty food. Recommend.

    is that JK playing violin?
    i really like that guy.
he came up to me during half time at a show in Keene, and asked if i was enjoying the show?
it was the Solstice show from Alaska in 1980.
he saw me dancing my ass off the whole first set.
    that guy can play!

    The CONCERT thread

It was JK on violin. We hung out with him at a bar watching a dead cover band after a Furthur show at the Wang. He was on the dance floor when we raged to a NFA encore. My buddy's opening comment to him was "you look bigger on stage" he cracked up

Barraco made a comment in a recent interview that JK had not communicated a single time with anyone in DSO since he left. That said, they set up next to each other and clicked and interacted and there was peace in the valley. Huge hugs after the show

JK hung with my friend after a Vegas show and was just a chill dude. Always good to hear consistent stories.

My buddies band killed it at the Casino Friday night even with two fill-in members one being his keyboardist/vocals which was obviously a little stressful. Rome played a really good show and DH is just really tight and really good. Vocals sound amazing with such a big overall sound. Interesting to here the scene in the green room between the two bands. Rome - party like hell. DH - professional as hell.

After the show my kid (I was not with him...didn't even see him) was getting a pic with his gf and a couple came up and wanted a pic. He was like sure I'll take your picture and they were like no, no, she wants a pic with you. He was all confused...looking at his gf like that's my gf are u trying to pic me up? Come to find out they thought he was DuddyB of DH. Pretty funny.

Saw Greensky Bluegrass last month in ATL at Variety Playhouse..best grass show i've ever been to my life

DBT killed in ATL on the 10th of October as well

Panic in ATL on 10/11/14 sucked..worst panic show of my life, horrible set list, not a fan of Duane Trucks filling in for Todd

Weirdest thing. We decided to go at 4:30. Bought separate tix on the street. Mine was 20, buddy's was 50. Before the show my other friend and his wife were showing us their front rows so we could come down later, and to get the usher used to seeing us. There were 2 seats directly behind theirs that no one claimed. 2nd row all night., directly in front of warren.my friend and his wife are the hands down best looking couple in history so being second row behind her was ok. Everyone stood so it was great. The Mule are ridiculous ( obviously)

Edit: love The Palace in Albany. Great venue. Kind security. The guy working near us was singing along to Pink Floyd's Fearless. One of the guitar techs brought us these after the first set.
