Aerosmith's Come Together is better than the Beatles original.
Aerosmith's Come Together is better than the Beatles original.
Although never released while he was alive (afaik), The Black Crows did a better job with Hard to Handle than Otis Redding. The WWF supestars did Land of 1000 Dances better than Wilson Picket. And as much as they're one of my favorite 2 bands, Al Green kills it in his version of Light My Fire.

"Can't you see..."
I might be blaspheming here, but I prefer SRV's version of "Little Wing" to Hendrix'.
The killer awoke before dawn.

-The Man Who Sold The World -Cobain
-Starman -Bowie
-Starman -Seu Jorge

-Cocaine -JJ Cale (the original)
-Cocaine -Clapton (pretty damn good though)
Jane's Addiction -Symapthy for the Devil, I prefer this version to the Stones

Rolling Stones -Sympathy for the Devil
"You damn colonials and your herds of tax write off dressage ponies". PNWBrit
The Michael Andrews/Gary Jules version of "Mad World" (closing song in Donnie Darko) was infinitely better than the original by Tears For Fears.
As for the INXS mention of "Never Tear Us Apart", fuck you.

NIN Hurt Meaning? LISTEN to the words...it is about Heroin abuse, and what it not only does to yourself, but to the people around you and their forever outlook on the type of person you will always be.
Johnny Cash had an amazing take on it, and it did relate to his history, but in no way is that version better than Trent's.
As for OTHER Trent songs to check out that have that kind of passion (albeit NOT a cover, sorry), check out "Something I Can Never Have".
NOW,
As for covers better than the original? Suck it, Mr. Jagger...
You should have been here yesterday!
I'm just not a Stones fan, but to each their own.
-btw watch that video for the Jane's version, that it some of the trippiest shit I've ever seen, must find that movie...weekend is almost here
NPG- I agree that Mad World cover IS better, and no one can tell me otherwise (cuz I aint hearin' see)
