I love how you don't know shit but you think you do. I spent a decade on a board, and I don't propose to know what you might or might not like to ride. But I do know that I like being on skis better.
But, Alta is full of flat spots, uphill traverses and hike outs. I, and most of the boarders I know, prefer a lateral, or slightly downhill traverse, so they can get to where they are going. Uphills require me to take off my board, and if I am doing that a lot, I'd prefer to not be paying for a lift ticket. Hiking is free.
And for all those who think a boycott will make a difference, get a clue. Alta is a cult. There are way too many families who have an annual Alta tradition for any boycott to get traction. And, they like it the way it is. Sure, there are some good intelligent boarders, but the Alta folks don't want all the other boarders showing up, and fucking up the traverse and making multiple low traverses like you get at all the other resorts.
Oh, and some of my best friends are gumbys, so I have nothing against one plankers. They always, and I mean always, have the goods with them.
