I missed the whole thing, and I did shit yesterday. I don't feel like I missed out on anything, except for the apparent good skiing.

Yo Gramps, let's get you back out on the moto next month.

Were you coming down off of superior at about 130? If so..i say the 3 of you (least i saw three). Turns looked SCHWEET!!!!

Some good skiing to be had out there today. With the right side up snow we didn't feel much of a bottom on N, NE aspects.

quite the party out there this morning, i'd go as far as calling it SUPERIOR. if you weren't there then you missed one for the ages, a new rival to the high boy. 3000 face shots. i'm sure its still good out, so go get it. i'll just blog about the last two mornings of dawn patrols from my office cause i'm way too hardcore to ski with the geeks in the daylight

    Yesterday

It snowed enough to start from the valley, and boy was it nice.

Here's some pictures of Mark harvesting the goods before sundown.

Well damnit, we meant to join the masses in LCC on Tuesday but I guess we took a wrong turn...

So Alecs and I made the most of it in 'Urban Days Fork' Can't think of many places in the world that could have a scene like this.

The Crow's Tail was pretty spooky at the base. Had several cracks shoot out under me. I'm fairly confident it was failing on surface hoar due to the creek nearby. However stability increased rapidly as we got higher up the chute. I dug a pit at 8k and was very pleased to find no significant weak layers and that the rain crust was breaking up nicely.

    And from today....

Behold the granite nipple! There were several cool knob problems on this boulder. Too bad I didn't bring my climbing shoes

Things are looking prime on the east face of Lone.

and I'm surprised nobody's hit Coalpit yet.

as for the snow: yea yea it's epic, all-time, sickgnar, blah blah blah

Upper coalpit 4 was sublime. However the lower section desperately needs a big avy to fill it in.

UDOT is testing artillery tomorrow (2/11/11) in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Stay clear of all North side avalanche paths from Cardiff Pk. through Lisa Falls from 0600 to 0830.
If your looking to get up for a tour the road will be closed from 6 to 8, 8:30am.
    Thanks.

Anyone looking to get out tomorrow and need a partner? Stuck in the office all week during the storm and need to get out for a good leg stretching.

We're skating the length of the Mirror Lake Hwy if you want to stretch your legs on sunday.
