Question Possible to rent Snowpulse cylinders in Whistler or Vancouver?

So I have my pack on order but it will be coming with the Euro cylinder which seems to be frowned upon by the Canadian authorities.

I'll be in BC this winter so the question is what to do about cylinders

I could (I think) fly out with it full then empty it for the return trip, which would be a bit of a pain in the ass, or I could buy the cylinder which is certified for US/Canada, which would be expensive.

If I can rent a cylinder in the Vancouver/Whistler area for a reasonable amount of cash that would probably be the easiest solution. Does anyone know anywhere which does that?

    Cheers!

If you want to take your euro canister there on the plane, you have to ask for authorization from your airline, which they will very likely not give, as they did in my case when I flew there last year. Emptiing it and refilling it in BC is not an option either since you won't find any place that provides the correct pressure for euro-canisters.

Last year I rented mine at 'Avalanche Safety Solutions' in Golden BC (they're the snowpulse distributor for North America). First I gave the guys at snowpulse in Verbier some shit though, because one of the main reason why I chose snowpulse over ABS was the fact that it would be easier to take the thing on the plane, and so we came to an arrangement where they refunded the rental cost for the canister, so you might want to consider doing this as well.

    Have fun!
