    PUSH, or Fox factory service?

Sorry if this is a repeat. I have a 08' TALAS RLC, and right now, it is beyond pooched, Tried new oil and seals (repeated oil levels twice in case I had my volumes wrong) but it is still crap. It either has too much compression (barely moves into stroke unless under havy load) or it sinks into it's travel, and doesn't rebound well. This changes according to air pressure, of course. The TALAS cartridge doesn't seem to be working either, or at best it is inconsistent.
    SO:
If you have taken thee stabs at service, and are thinking of sending it off, do you do PUSH or Fox, or another service?
I pay 'shop rate', which appears to be the same for shop mechanics as it is for consumers.

    Thoughts?

I can't speak for Push industries, but I used Fox for my f100x rebuild, and they were very good and fast.

I received good quality rebuilds from both with quick turn around. Push was less expensive when I used them and I could talk to the tech that did the service - if that matters to you. I would say shop based on price and if the price is the same go with Push, Fox already has your money.

I think you really can't go wrong with either in terms of quality of service. Fox and PUSH both have some neat add-on features. One thing to consider if you race -- Fox's tech tent will no longer service your suspension if it's been serviced by a third party tuner.

I used hippietech in the past to rebuild a Rock Shox. Was very happy with the results. I think it ran about 150 bucks.

I can't say I've ever sent anthing to Fox, but the shock I sent to Push came back a-maz-ing. They'll get more of my money.

I've used Push 3x (2 shocks, 1 fork) and all 3 came out excellent. Each time the bike's wheel felt more glued to the ground, more supple generally, better use of travel. And I'm pretty patient and methodical about setting up my fork and shock on my bike when I get them new, so it's not just a matter of basic adjustment creating a proper feel.

    I would use them again.

PUSHing a fork can void the warranty from fox...they dont use the same parts and seals, and i have seen cases where they machine the fork legs to accept an enduro seal which def voids warranty. if it is a prob with the talas, go to a shop that can rebuild that, its not that hard you just need the right tools & kit...or send it back to fox and if it was manufacturer error they will rebuild replace the guts for free.
seems like a no brainer to me.

I have sent a variety of forks and shocks to Fox for service over the years.
Turn around was fast and the results were consistently good.
I've heard good things about Push however I personally feel like I'm getting a better deal by having the parts serviced by the company the designed and manufactured them in the first place.

I think they machine them out for rockshox seals (its very minimal though).

    Go here

Then - Service -> Service Videos -> Talas Service.

I sent my talas to Push the first time it blew up. I was very happy there service. Its expensive though and my curiosity got me, so the next time I purchased the parts and did it myself.
a positive attitude will not solve all of your problems, but it may annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Called PUSH. They listened to my concerns as a lightweight (125#) rider. Sent both fork (TALAS) and shock (RP23) to them. Fork came back GREAT. Shock came back mushy and leaking oil. Called PUSH. Nice guy told me to send the shock back and immediately emailed me a FedEx shipping label with which to do so. Sent shock back to push. Shock came back great.

    Overall happy with the result.

I had an '08 TALAS 36 that I sent to Fox, with similar issues that you described, i.e. travel adjust not working, etc. When I got it back I found they had replaced the entire '08 TALAS cartridge with the 2010 version (TALAS 3 instead of 2), with the explanation that there's been significant redesigns and the newer version is much better and much easier to work on. I'm not sure if this is common or if the tech that worked on my fork was feeling generous, but it definitely feels heaps better and works now.

PUSH are also good people, and do amazing work by all accounts. Probably can't really go wrong either way. Sending to PUSH will void a warranty, but if the fork is an '08 it may be out of warranty anyways.
The older I get, the faster I was.

    Punch it, Chewie.

    Damn he seems cool.

I really liked dealing with PUSH. I have never owned one under warranty so for the money I liked calling and talking to the tech working on my shock directly.
