Title says it all. Are these interchangeable?
Title says it all. Are these interchangeable?
Well, that's fucked!
As far as I can tell they are not compatible.
Also they aren't making replacement lenses anymore, so my entire goggle quiver is now garbage.
What a bunch of bullshit.
I couldn't find shit for replacement lenses in stock anywhere.
So now smith thinks I am going to buy more of their goggles since they just stuck me with 3 pair of goggles that I might as well throw away, and a new pair of Phenom's that fog between the lenses thanks to their stupid fucking porex shit.
Lame.
Anybody got a good goggles recommendation, cause I sure in the fuck aren't buying more smiths.
Are those spys that keep coming up on SAC any good?
Edited to say I'm a dipshit.

Smith Fuse
I have about six different frames and at least that many lens tints. And they all come with a spare lens.
And they're cheap, so I don't mind owning six different pairs.
Wait, so the prodigy = no more???!?!?!??? If this is true, you're about to see me horde these motherfuckers like they're made of platinum and nobody knows. I think I have 4 pairs of these goggles and I don't like anything I've ever tried on and used anywhere near as much.
This is some fucked news...
It's bad enough that they quit making the frames. That they stopped making replacement lenses is complete bullshit.
even worse the new prophecy goggles have that porex bullshit too.
Porex don't work in the NW. I bought a pair of phenom's with it and they fogged between the lenses in about 2 hours. Took em back and got a new pair, that did the exact same thing the next day.
Brand new goggles shouldn't fog between the lenses. The only place I could see that moisture could get in there was through that porex filter.
I used the prodigy goggles for as long as I can remember with no problems. Why fuck up a good thing?
I must have gotten a bad batch then. I'll try to get them warrantied.
1. We are making and selling twice as many replacement lenses as last year.
2. Porex filter doesn't cause lenses to fog.
3. Please--buy some Spies and be sure to report back on the optics, quality and warranty. Oh--make sure to try to get some replacement lenses, too.
4. Calm down.

Cool, you should get your web guys to post that on your site, as currently it shows all prodigy lenses as sold out, and Prophecy lenses aren't listed. I didn't think they would interchange based on the pics of the lenses at backcountry.com. My bad.
What do you think is causing the lenses to fog between the lenses on the phenom's I bought last spring? And can I send them in for warranty based on that?
OH, and I really didn't want to try any other goggles. Smiths have been the go to for a long time.
Thanks for the info.
Sall good.
Smiths have always worked for me, and never fogged between the lenses until the last two pairs of Phenoms. I returned the first pair the same day they fogged, and Mt Si sports gave me a new pair after a bit of a hassle (they tried to get me to buy the new pair and wait till this year to have the fogged pair replaced). The next day those fogged as well. Knowing that they were the last pair that Mt Si had in stock I didn't take them back. I assumed it had something to do with the porex, as none of my previous smith goggles had that vent, and none of them fogged between the lenses.
anyone put a prophecy and prodigy side by side... if the lens is interchangable, what's the bigger differences...prodigy was one solid fucking goggle.
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?
fuck that noise.
gmen.
The Prophecy is simply an updated Prodigy...modern styling, sexy lines but fits exactly the same and can even function as an OTG for some people.
DBS....it's barely October. Lenses will be available soon enough. I made sure we'd have plenty this year.
Phiberawptik...we tried interchangeable "hop up kits" a few years ago but didn't see the demand necessary to sustain the project. Sorry.

Hey, I have a (continuous) problem with my Prodigy / Phenom lenses. I replace the lenses every autumn but before the season ends, after maybe 20-30 days lenses start showing little spots between the inner and outer lens. Those little spots look "tacky", like some sugar juice would have dried to the lens but odd part is that spots are between the sealed lenses. Generally, I'm taking very good care of my goggles, letting them dry after day of use and not swiping the inside lens. This has happened on three past seasons with Platinum Mirror and Sensor Mirror lenses, and much more quickly with Platinum. Prodigy is the best goggle I've used so far and I wouldn't like to change those to anything else, but changing the lenses every season & not even reaching full season with those is getting expensive, especially here in Europe where lens prices are considerably higher.
What could be the reason for this, any guesses, Reverend? I'm ok with the fact if I'm doing something wrong with the goggles, but I feel like those spots are just appearing to the lenses without much action from the user... Is there a list of do & dont's for Smith goggles?
Life is tough. It's even tougher if you're stupid.
yep, it probably is, just wanted to ask if there are ways to avoid this happening. I have two Prodigys, one came with Sensor and the other with Platinum. Original Sensor lens lasted two full seasons without problems but then also the replacements have gone in one season. Platinum gets always spotty during one season and same thing happened to my friend, who year ago bought Phenoms with Platinum Mirror lens.
It's like the outer surface of inner lens (in sealed air between lenses) is fully covered with very small spots/dots and finally your eye starts focusing on these spots. Is there some anti-fog coating etc. on surface of these lenses, that could be damaged? And if yes, what's damaging it?
I had these covered in warranty once but local distributor didn't have any answers to my questions what could have caused it. Distributor told that some ski school people had had similar issues, but they had been using some aftermarket antifog stuff on their lenses (which was utterly stupid and shouldn't been covered in warranty IMHO).
