Thanks everyone, for all the advice and support.
As most of you know stuff like this is tough, when it hits your little furry best friend. I was completely prepared to deal with this at 8 years old, I had no idea we would see this at 8 months old.
She's a great dog, super friendly and tons of energy. She still wants to play no matter what, which makes it hard for me right now because I know what's wrong with her... and she doesn't.
LAN and I talked about it again last night and came up with much the same conclusion that has been suggested here. She was a rescue dog, and who knows where she would have gone had we not picked her out that day. We're just happy to give her the life we can.
And who knows. She's still under a year old and not full grown. I have some dumb hope that she will grow into her legs a little and things may be better for a while.
