What's up everybody. I've been a skier for pretty much my entire life and since i've been at school I've been getting skiing withdraws. Skiing and racign at Boyne and Nubs in Northern Michigan and then going to school in the middle of the state where 4 inches is a "dump" kinda blows. I really should transfer. Anyway I've been outwest a bunch of times and love skiing at "real" mountains. Maybe someday i'll move out there. Anyway Alma college is starting a ski "club" and we race against the other state schools at Crystal so if anyone is doing that stuff for other schools give me a shoutout.
Hey all, I'm an EC skier, been skiing since I was 7 (24 years). Grew up on the small hills in NY, now in the mid-Atlantic lamenting our lack of fresh snow. Love to ski just about anywhere, though I need more trips to real mountains so I can ski more trees and other fun stuff. Why our snowmakers can't point snowguns into the forest is beyond me. At least if I can't ski the deep, fresh snow all the time, I ski what we have here and then drink beer and dream about trips to better snow.
Cheers to everyone on the site
I just moved out west to ski and I'm stoked about my first full season here. Grew up skiing my whole life and I want to get into more backcountry this year and get as many days possible. Just picked up some new sticks and def used opinions from here to help me decided, oops... Just waiting for some more snow from the gods.
Anyway, tonight's the re-opening of the Ranger so it's time to go drinkin. Anyone in the hole should go.
Hey there
Grew up skiing since I was a little guy in the midwest and go to school here in cincy (xavier), but am spending the next semester up in Alta and the Canyons while taking classes at Westminster College in SLC. If any mags want to introduce me to how they ski real mountains, by all means p/m me
finally decided to register here. Use to post on NS.com a lot but damn that place was annoying.
From Wisconsin, this is my 3rd year in Utah and going to the University of Utah. Always looking for people to go climbing, skiing at alta and touring with
I just registered on TGR and shit. FKNA.
Hey, just registered on TGR. This will be my second season on the mountains. I grew up in Missouri and currently live in Nebraska so I wasn't able to ski / snowboard much back then. I decided to take a friend up on an offer to go out to Breckenridge last year and I loved it! We went on two trips to Breckenridge and one day was spent at Vail during one of the trips. I would like to play on the mountains more but it's hard to get out there often due to work, finances, kids, travel, etc, etc. If I get a couple trips in per season I'll be doing good.
We do have a couple hills around here (snow creek, Mnt Crescent) that I can get a "fix" on I guess. I grew up skateboarding so when I started Snowboarding it wasn't too hard to keep my balance. Just getting good at linking turns on steeper terrain and trying to go faster with confidence right now. Later this year I hope to be getting some air off small kickers and have better overall board control.
I have our first family trip planned for Dec. 8-11th and still trying to decide where to go in Summit County. We will be staying in Frisco. My son (11) and I both snowboard and my wife skies. We can all go down blues fairly easily but my son still needs to work on toeside turns. I still have trouble with them on steep terrain, but starting to get better at it.
Anyway, I found this site from a Future Snowboarding Mag. and watched some teasers on the DVDs. I've been reading quite a bit since I joined and think this community is pretty cool compared to others I have been part of on the internet. I hope to be able to participate well here even with my limited experience and eventually be able to meet some of you with similar interests.

Wow, can't believe i've been lurking around here for this long and am now finally signed up. Still can not believe the amazing quality of TR's, tech info., and just general stoke that is on this board. Looking forward to meeting some of you crazy kooks and having some good turns.
Ski mainly at Felch Village, Buck Bump, and Lutsen. Couple trips out west this year. See ya around.
Hi powder peps!
Been lurking a year now... I know a few mags and luv the TRs & info, as well as the rowdy, un-moderated, NSFW, powder-fueled, Tom-foolery! FKNA!
Rundown by the #'s:
-10 years in a row of 100+ ski days
-3 years at the 'bush VT "Castlerocks!"
-8 years in UT, mostly at the Can, and Alta/Bird
-80% time spent (yrs) yo-yoing back-side-slack-country
-70% old school (volkl G40,Gots,explosivII, K2 AK enemys, Big troubles)
-30% new skool (public enemies, Praxis)
-1% time spent on a snowboard (stupid snowboarders!)
-4 cups of coffee a morning
-1 coffee fuel'd morning crap
-10 gapers a day I have 2 tell "NO beacon, NO clue, fuck off!"
Ohh ya ...100% JONG! (HA! Beat ya fuckers 2 it!)
peace&powder,
Tobs
^^Uh-Oh.. Jong is on a 8 post-per day binge. Are you like a super manic? What do you do after the coffee wears off? Do you really consider gots old school? Whats ur fave backside slackcountry at the AltaBird? Do you really monitor gapers beacon wearing habits?
You may be alright. Sugarbush is a great mountain.

Hi All - this is my second season snowboarding - got introduced to it by my ex boyfriend and am striking out on my own this season.
I have a season pass to Kirkwood and a ski lease in Meyers. Looking to do some "side country" riding this year and just progress my skills in general. Have a goal of riding more than 30 days this season.
Hoping to meet some other Kirkwood riders (seems like there are plenty on this board).

Howdy. Been lurking for about a year I guess. Been skiing most of my life, but it was on a trash heap in MI until recently. Just moved to CO after a year in the Bay Area.
Not sure where I'll spend my time this year. Somewhere in Summit most likely. My fiance's a beginner and I'll probably have to hang with her some to make sure she doesn't hate skiing and/or resent me. In any case, I'm sure I'll be nothing more than a weekender. Attorney'ing in Denver's probably not going to allow me to get up much during the week.
Maybe someday I'll bump into some of you.

Anyone wanting to meet up and ski in Idaho. I'm here.
Want to explore more in the Sawtooths... Later.

Stoked to finally see some snow out here and California and thought I'd join the conversation. Lurked off and on and always thought this place was the shiz. Ready to become the newest JONG.
I live in Santa Cruz and ski Tahoe. Right now, I'm getting psyched for my first BC trip next month.
I had a username last year, but lost it somehow. Ah well. Come in early winter to get some words on where to go. Looks like Jackson Hole in early January for us.
If you post 7 times a day. It is too much. Mmmkay.
Edit: thanks, Squatch. I wasn't looking furiously enough in the public profiles...

Hello everyone, I've been posting here for a couple of years and it finally dawned on me that I should say "HI" here.... ya ya ya, a bit slow I know.
I'm from San Francisco and grew up skiing the mountains east of LA, then the Sierra, and now I mostly hit Jackson Hole and Alta. I'll be in JH from Dec 21 t0 28 if there are folks around.
Two years ago skied with a handful of Maggots at Heavenly in the Burn, amazing day of perfect low angle pow, I've never forgotten it. If/when a Maggot is headed to San Francisco, PM me I'm always happy to provide local knowledge about stuff to do etc...
Ski hard!
