    Hey folks,
I've been reading on here for a few years now, and I've used the search function, but I have a JONG question that I can't seem to find the answer to. What is the literal translation to pwn3ed? I get the gist of it, but was just wondering.
    Thanks.

The Knotty was completely remodelled this last summer...I hope Bryce can pull it off! The stage/band area is SO much better, but the burgers have suffered. (It's two miles from my house, so ya' know...)

The coach is 16 miles, so either one is a good option.
The coach is the coach is the coach, thankfully.

Pwn3ed, Owned, pwnd, et cetera... as per urban dictionary

To be made a fool of; To make a fool of; To confound or prove wrong; embarrasing someone: Being embarrased.

I owned you in counter-strike. You were owned at the party yesterday.

Total and undeniable dominance of a person, group of people or situation as to make them/it akin to ones bitch.

    Ha! I own you, bitch!

    In relation to skiing...

"Dude that landing just owned him."

    or

"Shit his face just got owned by that tree."

    or

"Whistler Downhill completely owned my ACL last spring."

Cocaine? Talcum? Need more info to help.

BTW - "New JONG" is unnecessarily repetitive, since with the glaring exception of AKPM all JONGs are by definition "New(bie)..."

Icing sugar, actually. That's what I'm lacking in life.

Sorry for the repetition - I guess that falls into the category of stuff JONGs do.

Just moved to SLC from Austin, TX to be a ski bum until the snow melts or the money runs out this season. I ski Alta and the Bird just about every day so hit me up if you're up for a ski buddy or know of a good party. I moved here alone (like lots of mags I'm sure) so I'm looking to get to know the area and fellow mags. I've got nothing tying me down so I'm up for roadtrips so I can mark off as many mountains as possible. Love the forum, been lurking a while, and finally took the plunge and registered.

I've posted a few times, but thought I'd 'introduce' myself in here. Stumbled across TGR when looking for new skis this past fall, found a ton of help with that and was amazed at the info and knowledge (and TRs!!!!!!) some of you have and had to get involved. Currently a jr. at the U of Minnesota-Twin Cities, running the Ski and Snowboard Club-> definitely one of the coolest things I've done. Every time I'm in the mountains it gets better and better, and if all goes as planned, I'm moving out to Vancouver w/ my gf and my buddy, them for grad school, me for turns.
I also want to add that I am ridiculously excited to learn how to travel through the backcountry, and eventually do a lot of skinning/touring/etc. First order of business when I move West=Avy training.

Here's to all the Mags I hope to cross paths with down the line. Salut!!

I guess it's my turn... longtime lurker, recent joiner. Seattle resident, originally from Northern California. I've been skiing about 20 years, originally in the Sierras (Kirkwood, Sugar Bowl and Squaw were my favorites) and now mostly at Baker and Crystal with the occasional Alpental day or Whistler week thrown in.

Did a little bit of AT up till a few years ago but now I'm doing more lift served again. Must be getting lazy.

Anyhow, this board is amazing (but you know that already) and I'm happy to join the fray.

lurking on and off here for about a year after being introduced to the board by my boyfriend. I started to realize that my lurking has intensified following my move to vegas and the first winter I can remember when I haven't gone skiing every weekend, and so I finally caved and registered.

The stoke has been much appreciated... keep it coming

After a great deal of lurking on this forum I figured I should register and give back to a community that has provided me so much laughter (see: work bathroom slayed thread), skiing stoke (see: hospital air and Landry line threads), and insight that people aren’t crappy and cutthroat outside of law school (see: Savannah and Schmoesmith collection threads.)
As for me- I’m dorky law student stuck in Newark, NJ for a few more months then it is on to Philly (my hometown) with my GF. I have done the majority of my skiing at whiteface and love that mountain. Will be going out west (Alta) for the first time in two weeks and have greatly appreciated the wonderful TR's that have been posted lately.
Since I'm a dyslexic-Jong-dork I will refrain from posting anything until I have some interesting Trip Report to post or at least some good pictures.

I have been lurking for a while. I finally decided it was time to nut up and register. Anyway, I am an Oregon transplant living in Denver and finishing law school while my wife works on her Astrophysics Phd. (She is a lot smarter than me). Anyway this community seems -- though appearances can be deceiving -- like a good bunch of people. Seriously, I am just trying to connect with others who have a similar passion -- the mountains.

Registered soon after a few lurking sessions as this place rocks. Wish I had stumbled on to it sooner. Gear Swap and Tech Talk are great.

I can't believe how condescending and elitist TGR members are. I'm going to fit right in!

Skied the 'bird with a few maggots yesterday, thought it'd be a good time to join. A few of you may know me from ski.com.au

Had a great day thanks to these really friendly guys, they were happy to show a JONG around. Thanks!

    Yet another JONG...

Just finishing a geology degree and hoping it will provide plenty of excuses to go to the mountains as much as possible. Currently applying for a Canadian visa to work a season in Whistler and hopefully overcome the skiing incompetence which comes from living in a town so flat that the only place to ski is an artificial hill. On an army base. The stoke on this board is immense and driving me up the wall with jealousy...but somehow I can't tear myself away!

I've been lurking for a while. I'm from the east coast and decided to go to law school out here instead of heading out West with a buddy of mine, been regretting it every since. Averaging about 15 days a year if I'm lucky. These TR's are getting me very jealous.
