Just chiming it to reinforce how great Jay is skiing right now. Really exceptional conditions and the best I've seen it ski in a long time. Years perhaps. Just wall to wall goodness with amazing consistency. Ski anywhere you want as aggressively as you want. Get it before this warm snap does.

This really does hurt. Rain in mid Feb always a nut shot. Hopefully it bounces back fairly quickly but looking like things will crust up by the weekend with rains Thursday and Friday and below freezing temps on the back end. As severe as this stings, I can't get over how consistently great its been over the last 3+ weeks. Stoke has reigned supreme. Hard to complain too much I guess although I had visions of riding a packed pow paradise right into spring. I fly out to Utah Wednesday (had to throw that in) so hope I'm not leaving too much carnage in my wake.

I've come to grips with the idea that the resorts are going to get crushed, and most of the BC. Now I am just hoping that MTW is spared above treeline.

while i'll always be the first to accept more pow. I refuse to complain about this SNAFU on the east. The last 45 days have been incredible...

The winds look like they are going to stay fairly light through the warm-up. IMHO warm wind kills a snowpack faster than rain (unless it pours). Maybe the thaw will only succeed in solidifying the existing packed pow into semi-glacier, March goes off the deep end (we're due after the last 2 crap Marches) and we're able to get back out into the BC. Then the deep solid snow base holds on into May.

^^ also agree. We've had a great run, you know it was going to get back to "normal" sooner or later.

MTW has only been "solid" so far IMO, it's due for a few more good events. We'll be aiiight...

+1 Despite the greatness we've been experiencing we are still due for a Jay-caliber March. By no means do I think we're eff'd in the medium term was just lamenting the fact that this rain is going to spoil what has been an amazing run. Base is great right now and don't see much base loss from the aforementioned snafu just a whack to surface conditions. Another decent storm and right back into action.

Sooo according to NOAA, Saddleback and the Loaf may be spared the thaw? Lionel - any chance you could render an opinion regarding such?

This may be the weekend to use my free tickets to Saddleback and Sugarloaf...

    ^^^Yes, I know, I shouldn't be complaining, but I'm greedy and demanding.

So my cousin lost my Daks - Slides book somewhere around Wolf Jaw during a two week trip up there.

If anyone has one and would be willing to copy or scan it for me I'd gladly repay your kindness in beer/$$.

There isn't anything in there I or 10,000 people don't already know but my memory is kind of full and the aerial pics were nice.
You're gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistling bungholes, no spleen spliters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker donts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistling kitty chaser?

    Thumbs up

    Nice pics neufox and fromnek!

Toured an area I have not been in a bit, snow was warm skiing was meh, avalanche training was the main objective after we saw it warming. But nuking now. Only had the iphone unfortunately. Gullies and trees are filled in nicely. Many here ski there so no secret spot, plush easy access is the best part. 37 and snowed all day albeit warm snow.

Will be back again soon, sometime. When the mank hides itself.

    the exits

3" on the ground and pounding, looking for a pow day tomorrow. Not sure what all you nay sayers are saying. Gotta be here to get it
