Dusting of snow this morning and the first time temp. is under 32` at the baseof the Bush. Yesterdays rain moved the snowline up a bit, but soft new snow fell on the upper 300' of the mountain. Will be hard as a brick today.

What are these "gloves" of which you speak?
Was going up for a ski but hands will be too cold for comfort.

VT - the glove thing was something I learned this one time skiing in NH, I was trying to get to GOS in a worn out pair of muck boots, my jeans were frozen and I kept dropping my poles because the hand warmers were clumsy. This guy comes sliding up next me with his skis on, going uphill, which was pretty cool, he didn't stop to chat, just heard him mumble something about slow..gaper...hick...GLOVES. fortunately I have an encyclopedia set, low and behold there they were, gloves, people been using em for a long time it seems - god bless NH, I learn something everytime I go there![]()
brrrr.....scritch crunch scritch.....brrr....
We skinned at MRG on Saturday and the moisture content was so high that the snow was really slippery, no glopping anywhere. We even skinned through wet areas, usually a big no-no, and it made us go faster. Great grip too.
Lesson reinforced ... conventional wisdom and techniques don't always apply.
I'm off to Montreal for the International Travel and Tourism show. Bringing the bike for a night urban assault after the doors close at 9pm. Still debating between the overkill dh bomb or the overkill xc firecracker. Wish me bon chance!

There's some small snow squalls and lots of flutter going on around Norwich/Hanover. Of course, I'm going climbing this weekend, but hopefully some of you all get after it.
Happy friday and weekend to all!

Jeep Stoke
Sorry for the non-skiing post but just wanted to share some of my joy today. A friend of my moms & the Magic crew is bringing my 1952 Willys to me today. This Jeep has been in my family since the late 80’s & was my first car in High School.
The Jeep ended up @ my families place in VT during my college years where my dad took it over for a while. Many years in a row he drove it in the Londonderry 4th of July parade. It has had gold medal winner’s ride in it (Ross Powers) & several Miss Vermonts.
After my dad passed away in 2005 it has been just sitting up there in the barn & my mom has been hinting she wants it gone. Not wanting to sell it or drive it the 150 miles (top speed around 50mph & the fact it’s 58 yrs old) I finally found someone with a flatbed & it will be here this afternoon.
I’m super stoked to have it back. My 52’ Willys….
It should be here any minute. Again, sorry for the NSR post. Back to pics & talks of snow. Have a great weekend all.
^^^^ That's awesome, Greg. Reganized is a huge Jeep fan. He'll definitely appreciate a old Willy's. That'd should get to the top of Magic no problem.
It's here! Talk about timing. I'm out for the weekend.![]()
