    AK Heli in Feb

Being the tired old slouch that I am, my family figured for my 50th b'day they'd all pitch in and treat me to an AK trip. Becueae of work schedules March and April are both out, so it's February or not at all for me.

Any EC mags interested in a week in February flying with Sean Dog? I'm checking with him for space availability.

Been seeing a lot of nice pictures lately, some so good I Bought some fish for dinner last night.

Color is peaking in a lot of places. According to the state guide Camels Hump > north is peak [Sterling Valley was peaky on Sat.] and south to Bellows Falls is mid. Leaves are dropping fast around here. Drove through a few leaf showers yesterday.
Peeping is going to be sparse around here by Columbus Day and the 2-4" of rain forcast for tomorrow [fuck you TD16] will strip a bunch off.

Bummer. Do you have any good tips for Oktoberfest newbies? Usually we head all the way to Western NY for the Ellicottville/Holiday Valley festivities but are giving Lake Placid a shot this year. I am expecting a real good time.

    Drink a lot of beer?

Our first couple of years we stayed at the Wilmington Notch campground--which is just past the entrance to Whiteface. That is fun. We played truth or dare and the campground manager yelled at us to be quiet every half hour all night long. And then one year my husband (BF at the time and NOT porterhouse) jumped off the rock wall and broke his heel--we proceeded to tell him he was fine and should keep drinking. We went to dinner, spent all night whooping it up and in the morning his ankle was the size of his thigh and we had to take him to emergency room. Good times.

You should stop by Steinhoffs for dinner if you are going to stay around after its over. Thats our apres ski place.

You're Hubby is accident prone. Perhaps he should stop jumping off things? By my count he's down to 1 knee, 1 heel and about 7 bones in his back.

    Oh I can't wait for apres-ski....

Awwww, you shouldn't have gotten me Phish tickets for shows the Tuesday before my birthday and the Saturday night after it. Pretty impressive gift for my 30th... what a guy! Enjoy those (not that you need me to tell you that).

First check into ECRC 4...the unrated version.

Good to see some familiar faces checking in after a long summer.

And Bluebird...I have been back to LP since my NSA days. Remember 2 summers in a row I coached ramp camps?? Super psyched to spend some time in the 'daks this weekend.
