I skied a pair of Shirks today on groomers and crud. Pretty awesome ski. It skis like a longer, stiffer Megawatt that you can finish the turn at speed with confidence and not have that washed out feeling you get with the Megawatt. Has a nice quick snappy edge to edge feeling and does not chatter or tip flop at high speed on groomers. I got back seat on an air off a cat track and landed on the tails. It felt stiff and took the impact without the folding feeling I get from the Megawatt. Also a good endorsement for the Freeride Pro as I weigh 200lbs and really hammered the landing. In the air I was cringing expecting to double e on impact. Did not get to ski any powder on these, but I can only imagine it would be awesome. I think I am going to pick up a pair as my touring set up.

i just saw this was updated, shaweet.

I thought the megawatt skied pretty short so the superturbo sounds right up my alley. do these have a more gradual rocker profile ala darkside? also do they have camber in the tail or more flattish? thanks for the review.

I let powder11 pop the cherry on their first couple runs. I skied a few runs on them in the afternoon. Coming off a bad ligament tear in my ankle so not really pushing anything.

They feel to have the stiffness of a Goliath under foot and the shorter turn radius of a Sluff. Don't feel heavy for their size.

202's are vapourware never made it into production.

Learn something new everyday. Zero were ordered or delivered in North America, so guess you Swiss can rock out on them.

    Shirk or Verbier51,

Would either of you recommend mounting these anywhere but on the line?

    Thanks!

I mounted on the line and love them.

I've skied some varied conditions but no deep blower yet and the marked line gets the job done.

Movement as a brand does a good job of nailing the mount line. Not much need to fuss around ahead or back.

    Thanks for the confirmation.

I will do a review when I get a chance to ski them.

thought i might revive this old thread.
second season for me on the 10/11 version, probably skied 50 days on them in and around whistler.
i'm 6'0", 190 lbs, fast/solid style though not always pretty, hard on gear.
mounted on the line with duke's (for slackcountry duties).
for non-slackcountry days i ski rossi RC112 with alpine bindings. lots of time on prior overlords, demo'd many other big skis.
overall i really like them a lot - highly recommended!

    good:
really nicely damped, especially for a weight-conscious, moderately-stiff ski.
reverse chamber shovel floats well, has enough stability to plow crud, calm and composed in rough terrain or at speed.
excellent torsional rigidity for surprisingly good hardpack performance.
super easy to turn in all kinds of snow - very friendly for such a stable ski.
tail has mild upturn, enough for easy turn release and negotiating tight/steep terrain.
    reasonable weight for touring.

    bad:
tip is low to ground, and despite the rocker will sometimes punch into windlips or moguls instead of floating.
i'd prefer a slightly stiffer ski overall, especially the tail (but that's just preference).
it could use a less euro name.

Would you recomment 5'7" 150 lbs guy to mount them on the line?
I am thinking mounting 1cm forward for easier turning since I am used to about 185cm long (rockered) skis. Do you see any reason for forward mounting?
Shame that all the companies are not giving as good instructions as BD (http://www.blackdiamondequipment.com...ting_Specs.pdf)

    i'm 5'10" 150#.

    mine are on the line.
i don't think that i would go forward because of the moderately rockered tip.
    but that's just me.
