Yeah, got woke up for the second night in a row to the sound of loud torrential rain pelting the roof. No idea what time last night as the clock was blinking. My whimpering lab then kept us awake, she no like thunder.

Looks like a break for a few hours, gonna go rail some moist dirt

You've stumbled on my secret! If we're having a dry spell in the winter, I wash and buff my ride. Never fails. Epic nukeage if you get the tires all shiny too.

Mammoth?!?!?! This is the TAHOE thread!

I drove over Carson Pass this morning around 10 a.m. on the way back to SF from Vets compound and there was snow on The Sisters, Round Top, and the peaks that are kind of South/East of Luther Pass, basically anything above 10,000 ish feet it seemed.

Not really enough to warrant skiing, but not a bad start to the winter base.

based on what i saw i would have to say "No." but if the temps stay down, this dusting could stay around and create a nice base (unlike that swift dusting back in Sept. that came and went within a day).

Just drove over Rose (Slash Fuckin' rocked!!!), and it was only snowing right at the top and through the meadow, pissin' rain the rest of the way, mostly rain with a few flakes mixed in by the ski area.

Above 9k Heavenly has got 3" and are expecting another 3" this morning. Not quite what they had on October 4th of last year. Warms up by the weekend, so powder days ahead for mountain bikers and brahp brahps.

Cause when it rains in Tahoe, Mammoth gets snow . So , we will see how your winter is. Remember it's all about the Global Warmingz . Still, good reports are coming in from some friends in the mammoth area, that some good totals occured above McCoy station. Nonetheless, it will all melt when the sun comes out. I'ts still a tad to early.
