Got bored and added an "Arcade" to the Snacky Treat post. If you know of any online games that would be worth adding let me know and I will put them up.

Here are some places for the snacky treat post from S. Lake

How bout adding Artemis greek restaurant in SLT. Place has absolutley amazing food & it's Greek & not named Nick's. Try the venison burger.

Burger Lounge in SLT. It's all about the hangover helper.

Turn 3 in SLT. Always a good local spot for a cocktail. $3.50 bloodymary's with a beer back all day sunday, every sunday of the year. All football games & Nascar if your into that.

And yes there's always the Divided Sky in Meyers for cocktails as soon as your into town.

RC your effort into this is amazing! I have saved the single post with weather maps to my phone as you suggested---awesome. Again thanks for getting this going & keeping us all way to informed.

I have a Kirkwood ticket with your name all over it, if you ever make it down this side of the lake.

Nuthon: what's your take on The Naked Fish?

Guy I went to grade school with owns it and in terms of sushi outside of a traditional port city (i.e. San Francisco), it's pretty damn beuno. I think it may be the best that Tahoe has to offer (the options I have tried in the NLT area are 1. over priced and 2. not that good, unless you absolutely love California Roll inspired fare).

    For Snacky Treat in Incline:

I really like Austin's (http://www.austinstahoe.com/), good down home cooking.

T's Mesquite Rotisserie, is also quite tasty.

    Thanks Nuthon, that's really cool!

I added all but Naked Fish. Let me know if it needs to be there.

Don't forget Freshies in SLT - good California food menu and PLINY THE ELDER ON TAP - probably the best beer on tap in the entire Tahoe area (okay I don't know shit about North Lake pubs/bars).

Another +1 for Burger Lounge - should be noted for the hippietarians that Burger Lounge also has 5 different styles of veggie burgers and 3 different types of buns. Oh yeah, so f'ing good.

I suggest we keep snacky treat to a $20 limit - this is a maggot thread not the high-brow Tahoe food review.

    You da man, D!

I prefer Samurai to the Naked Fish for premium sushi on the South Shore. As of a couple of years ago, Samurai got their fish from a distributor in SF, while everyone else on south shore, including Naked Fish got their fish from LA, though that might have changed. I have Japanese friends who come up from San Francisco, and prefer Samurai to anywhere in the Bay Area; they claim it is cheaper and more dependable. In general, I don't like budget sushi, but I have a reputable friend who swears by the all you can eat at Sushi Pier on the Nevada side, and its is even cheaper with a local id.

Everyone has a boner for SP1, SP2 and Hiroba... I don't get it I am not a fan of any of those. If you want good bait go to Kokopelli's in Circus Circus (<- I know, but this is good I promise!) all you can eat ~$20. Sit with a guy named Aureliano. First things to order are: Japanese scallops w/jallepeno, yellow tail cheeks, ceviche, royal flush, and/or abalone. He uses very little rice and you will get your protein, carb, mercury fix in no time! Also, because they get so much traffic the fish is 99% of the time top quality.

Just my thoughts. Shit, I'm hungry. Anyone up for sushi tomorrow night?

Not sure about Naked Fish. I always go to Off The Hook. Lots of good specialty rolls, happy hour from 4-6 with $3.50 & 4.50 rolls. it could fit into the $20 limit of the TGR crowd.

Went from south shore to kirkwood today and back down 88 to gville and caught this pic of fresh snow and
a lightning fire burning just south of jobs peak. Sun was long gone, so it's kinda dark, but it was kinda trippy.

That's what I thought, too, that it was hail. But after seeing temps in the 40s outside myers, I wasn't sure.
Thought it might snow up top in kw, but it just drizzled.

for the last 8 or so years, every restaurant i've worked at gets their best fish flown in overnight from honolulu fish company. it arrives still wiggling via fed ex in ice filled styrofoam coolers. it's mostly guaranteed to have been caught the day before. when i was married, my x-wife had a trade account with samurai. it's good stuff.

That's what I'm talking about! I come home from skiing all the time absolutely starving. This is definitely getting traffic from me! Thanks!

Oh, and if you're posting pics this season I will happily add them to the stoke post. One request, could you please code the image into your post? EX: [img]xyz[/*img]. See Splats excellent example above. That way I can just quote the post and add it. I often don't have time to do all the coding. I probably won't add it if it's not coded to the post. Thank you.

Not sure what the food posts are regarding but Rigoberto's in South Lake near the "Y" is THE place to go.

I was gonna snap a pic of Job's peak yesterday but figured someone else would. Cant tell what it looks like now because it is obscured with clouds and sun. Loving the rain.

Looks like snow above 10k on the south shore this morning. How about north shore? Oh, that's right there is nothing above 10k up there. Zing!

There is a little bit of snow at Mt Rose pass (8900') and probably a few inches on Rose, Tamarack, and Rose Knob.
