Motivated by the crew here, I did some patch skiing this Saturday out near Roundtop. Wildflowers were going off as expected.
The patches were sizeable too.
We were with a lot of people, so we chose the accessible one below Roundtop
Skiing in Late August
Pumped since the whole patch you see was skiable
My dog is 12 and has 3 legs. He had no problem on this hike last year... what a difference a year makes.
Some curmudgeon gave me shit about carrying my skis for 1 minute of skiing. I told him I was contractually obligated by Mike's Hard Lemonade to ski in the summer. He was confused.

very nice. it's crazy walking back from skiing out there. you almost have to budget extra time for all the questions, especially on a saturday. for the curmudgeons, just point out that they walked all that way and didn't even go skiing.
