Neighbor started keeping chickens last year, and now we have rats in the back yard. Fuck. What a surprise. Saw one last week, todays there were three of them, broad day light, eating seeds that fell out of a birder feeder. So I guess the feeders are coming down. Fuck.

We have a pretty decent squirrel population. I don't suppose there's such a thing as a poison that only affects rats? Shit they just got a puppy too. Many factors here. Fuck!

Any advice besides nuking the coup?!

That was awesome. Never knew I'd watch 9 minutes of dogs chasing rats but that was so fun. Highlight of the night. Thank you. Did a google and it looks like these guys are very much in demand in my area. That can't be a good thing.

This thread had at least 3 necro bumps. Impressive for such an inconsequential thread.
    No longer stuck.

How do we best deal with the Mseries infestation?

The bites were unbearable, and it was one of the most distressing situations I’ve ever faced. Thankfully, my parents decided to call professional exterminators like Zap It Pest & Termite Control, and they took care of the problem efficiently. It’s definitely worth seeking expert help for such issues!

Fuck those things. Been fighting for two months after a tenant left. Pest guy says the eggs are in the walls, electrical outlet, fridge coils etc. and they will keep hatching.

Fortunately when they show up they are dead or on their back twitching.

This video reminds me of an incident at a worksite in 2002. We were remodeling a couple of houses on a property and this clown doing some excavation work had a terrier and unknown to us left it in the place we weren't currently working on. When we started that project we discovered that the fucking dog had spent its time tearing 20+ holes into the walls trying to get mice.

Wetlands next to us are getting worked up into new lots. I know it’s NIMBY of me and I am total hypocrite, but we shouldn’t keep building on wetlands. Anyway, two rats and one mole so far have been trapped in the yard. Yard is like a war zone, going to have a lot of spring cleaning.

I don’t think this is NIMBY at all. Depends a bit on your local ecosystem, but most wetlands are keystone or anchor ecosystems and should be preserved. Putting low density housing in place of them is poor form IMO.

Depending on the state you live in there should be fairly significant protections requiring either on or off site mitigation depending upon the wetland classification. Where do you live?
