ptex or base weld? what do i need?

my morrisons (original) have a core shot down to the paint and i'm wondering if Ptex will solve my problem. i would prefer it this way because i don't really wanna pay for a base weld (but i will if needed). the skis are old-ass and in terrible condition but still work fine. needless to say from the pictures i will not be surprised if they explode this year. at least i will be rid of K2 forever then.

Can you guys fill me in on what i should do? thanks

from the looks of those skis i don't think i'd waste too much time on them. i'd take a thin layer of epoxy to the core, score it with a blade and cover with p-tex. just clean up the core shot first.

base weld and p-tex don't stick very well to the core material. some techs should jump in on this one.

As mentioned, maybe not worth taking too much time on, but easy to fix. If you want to do it yourself, do as Altapowderdaze said, clean it up, a little epoxy down low, night heat it a bit to set it into the core, and then layer it up with p-tex. If you just use p-tex it will work for short term, but crack and chip out without much use.
If you have a buddy a weld would be good, and maybe some epoxy around your delams to seal out more water from seeping in and spreading further.

Don't think your too concerned with keeping a mint base with multiple de-lams, right?

    Fun ski.

You could also just say fuck it and just squeeze some epoxy in there. It won't come out. Wax won't stick to it, however in a spot that small it doesn't matter.
