    Durable Snowboard Boots

    Hey,

So I used the search, but found nothing on this topic (correct me if I did not search well enough).

Anyways, my good old Nitro boots of the last 5 years (200-250 days of riding on them) are finally falling apart, so it is time for a new pair. From what I have read, this much time is quite good for a pair of snowboard boots. I have only had cheaper boots before these, so I was wondering what are other brands of snowboard boots that are very durable?

    Thanks in advance
    Arash

I like Vans, had really good luck with my last 2 pairs, had the Fargo and one other model, love the BOA system, can't stress enough how much I like my boots. I hate boots that don't get tight, too many years of riding have made my ankles rather weak.

    durability is overrated.

Using a pair of boots more than 100 times seems insane to me. I use Burton Hails which are the most comfortable boot ever. They are cheap so I have 3 or 4 pairs and pick up a new pair whenever sac has them up.

Tight boots? Ugggh, I shudder at the thought.

I definitely agree with having the boa or some other kind easy lace system, thouggh I don't understand why having boots for more than 100 days is insane to anyone. if you can have good and comfy boots for 200 days, then why not?

Plus, I took a look at the Burton Hails, and compared to the good nitro boots, they are not any cheaper. Maybe compared to more top of the line burton boots they are, but not the nitro boots.

I was really lucky with my nitro boots actually, I got them for only 70 bucks because they were the last ones left and were a previous years model. I'd definitely recommend them (at least the more top of the line ones).

Anyone have anymore thought on which boots are best and why as well as which are most durable?

I have had good luck with 32. Probably put 60 days on them and they are still going strong. I do a ton of walking on concrete and the soles have held up nice. For 199 you can't go wrong with the Lashed pretty awesome bang for your buck. I like the Rome's but they just feel wayy to soft. The construction on them seems pretty bomber though.

I know it's gotten better but I fucking hate Boa boots. I have seen way to many of those dials fall apart. Gotta head to a shop to fix them with laces its easy to keep a spare on you or in the car.

I've ridden over 100 days on my last 2 pairs of Vans, broken 1 cable and 1 dial on the old ones, while they were fixing my old Fargos I bought a new pair, not 1 problem in 100 days of riding with the new Boa dial. And despite the fact that I like my boots super tight, they don't hurt my feet, other than a little numbness on the toes on the coldest days.

My Ride Deuce's are the most comfortable I have ever ridden. I tried on about 20 different models and these stood out as the best by far. They feel like sneakers that fit just right yet they have enough control/support for freeriding.
Im a fan of laces. Durable, easy to tighten certain parts of the boot more than others.
So far I have about 30 days on these boots and they still fit like new.

Wanted Malamutes at first but the F22 was just right on fit. F24 was a bit too much. All great boots, Salomon works really well for me. Ski boots are Solly Shoguns, so apparently they make boots that fit my style feet! Thumbs up for Salomon!

Heh. Saly makes great boots for me, too. Ghosts and Malamutes. The Malamutes are the only pair of snowboard boots I´ll ever consider to buy again. I started out with 32, and was never impressed with their quality.

Doughboy: It´s insane not to consider durability when buying boots. The good thing about a nice pair of boots is that you can always buy new liners when the ones you´ve torn apart start smelling like rat shit. Better to throw away a pair of liners than a pair of boots, plus, you don´t have to buy that many boots made in China..
