The Joel McHale Show is actually pretty funny. I never watched the Soup, but this is similar except I think he's going to be waaaay more crude since they don't have censorship on Netflix.

It start off kind of amateurish and you start thinking that this is awkward looking, but then it all starts to make sense. His international bit was fucking funny!!

Just noticed that show the other day, but haven't had a chance to check it out yet. I did enjoy talk soup back in the skunkboy days, so I think you're into something

So i've burned through Black Mirror and I guess there's gonna be a year before any new ones come about. Suppose dirty money next, unless there are other recs. Here's how I'd rank what i've watched so far
    1. Black Mirror. So fucking far out in front of the pack it's pathetic. Damn it dark and depressing on the whole...but ssssooooo well done....
    2. Godless. Pretty darn good, great ending
    3. First Season Stranger Things. a little goofy but solid.
    4. Mind Hunter. In my estimation dragged a bit in the middle, if you ran file compressoin software on it you could squeeze out several hours. "in the light" was a nice touch.
    5. Second season Stranger things. Just didn't do much for me.
    6. Ozark. Jumpted the shark in a hurry. Good to see Esiai Morales, Last time I saw him he and sean penn were goin at it @ rainford. While I try not to take stuff too seriously, I couldn't find much remotely beleivable here. and not terribly great dialoge, acting, etc.

    ok thx

Agreed. So dark. The in your face social commentary is so painful, but in a good way. I just watched the Nosedive episode for the second time, but this time with my wife. Now she hates social media almost as much as I do. Haha. Will be re-watching Hang the DJ next. San Junipero also deserves another viewing, and White Christmas, and Black Museum, and....

Narcos was good. Bloodline lost me after season 1. Black Mirror was perfect. Snowfall looks good. Mindhunter was OK. I'm dragging thru AC. Have enjoyed Travelers lately. Cloverfield Paradox was mindless scifi, which I'll take over any other mundane shit.

I enjoyed Altered Carbon, but was surprised with violence and nudity for an original show by Netflix. Not that I watch a lot of their original series, but the ones I have seen seem more like a PG-13 movie or maybe a R rated movie edited for network TV.

I thought Travelers was a good show and will watch season 3 assuming there is one.

    Fred Armisen: Standup For Drummers

I normally find him and the usual Portlandia shtick annoying but this is really good.

His Stewart Copeland impersonation cracked me up.

    Netflix: instaView rec's

Finished up Altered Carbon. Definitely recommend - 5 Stacks! Hope Abs McGee stays on board for season 2. I'd like to see more of Ortega too [emoji12], but an interview I read sounds like many changes are likely if it gets a season 2

Been watching The Frankenstein Chronicles, just to see how Sean Bean dies, and Collateral: both good enough to keep me watching so far.

Also saw The Outsider - worth it to see Jared Leto in an interesting role, but the plot was pretty old and weak.

Dunno if this is still available on NF, but...

If you're a genre junkie (horror/sci-fi/grindhouse schlock) and it's still on the NF, I HIGHLY recommend checking out TURBO KID (it just popped up on Amazon Prime, fwiw).

Crazy post-apocalyptic madness that pays homage to BMX movies, Peter Jackson (Dead Alive, particularly), Monty Python (The Holy Grail, specifically), Soylent Green, Waterworld, Solarbabies, and all those gloriously bad post-Mad Max spaghetti apocalypse films of the '80s.
    Oh, and arm-wrestling.
    Yeah.

Death Grip will make you wanna go shred some gnarly mtb trails and throw some massive dj whips. It has incredible cinematography, riding and is all around beautiful.
    And it's on netflix

Just watched a movie on NF last night. I think it was called The Outsider. Story revolves around a white guy that stays in Japan after WW2 and gets involved with the Yaguza. The wife left the room, meaning it was violent in parts, but my daughter and I liked it.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
