I tried searching a bunch, but couldn't find anything real definitive. I remember reading once online or in a mag about how to properly set your forward lean. Can someone please give me some tips?

That's relatively general, but seems logical. But, if I remove the liner and put my footbed in, the footbed is way smaller than the shell of the boot. Do I just try and center it and then adjust the lean so my calf is centered in the cuff when I am in a "skiing" position?
Easy & quick canting adjustment:
Put your boots on, buckle them down, get a partner to loosen the adjustment bolts, flex around a little to loosen up the boot, stand comfortably with feet shoulder width apart looking forward, have partner tighten bolts where they are with you in that position.

the first post should have said: GO SEE A BOOTFITTER! if you dont know what your doing its too easy to f*ck up and youll never know how much better your boots could perform.
I was just asking so I could know more about what I am doing. Seems like bootfit is something that there are a lot of different opinions about, so I thought I'd ask. I am going to ask the bootfitters at the shop I work at (starting for real tomorrow), just thought that the more opinions the better.Originally Posted by hucksquaw

Plus, I didn't even offer any ski knowledge, in fact, I was asking for knowledge, so not only can you not spell, seems like you also can't read.
if youre working in a ski shop you should be telling others this sort of info, not asking for it. so obviously your the dumb shit here.
oh, and what gives you the impression i cant spell?

shows how much i learned in elementary school. geuss it was because i was skiing too much. but elementary school doesnt teach you about ski boots however in your case elementary school teachers would probably know more about ski boots than you.
Wow, you're so awesome. Obviously you even forgot that I was asking a question in the first place, ummm...because I wanted to know more. Were you born with all of your awesome ski knowledge?Originally Posted by hucksquaw
no i wasnt born with my ski knowledge but i wouldnt expect to be hired at a ski shop until i aquired some knowledge about skiing. and i certainly wouldnt hire anyone who doesnt have knowledge about the business i was hiring them for. would you?
I know plenty about skiing, just more from the consumer side, because obviously, I've never worked in a ski shop before.Originally Posted by hucksquaw
ski knowledge is universal. its just the manner you learn it in. you dont have to work in a ski shop to know the info that ski shop employees do.
Well, then where does one learn it?Originally Posted by hucksquaw
maybe if you werent a dumbass you would realize that you can educate yourself.
Hey, you'd better listen to that guy. He's spancered! You should be asking to fucking touch him instead of pointing out how dumb he is. That's just mean.
Fucksquat, we're quite capable of flaming ourselves here. If you don't have anything reasonable to add, get the fuck out or risk bukaki death from above.
-edit- here's the response I got. the heel lift worked great for raising the ramp angle.

i think that was the point of his post here.Originally Posted by hucksquaw
