Kirkland (costco) brand beer - discuss

I bought my first 24 the other day for ~$17 and I don't hate it.

decent beer. I forget the name of the brewery they're actually getting it through, but its the real thing, not American corn beer.

We've won it. It's going to get better now. You can sort of tell these things.

Disagree. That stuff is absolute crap and, unlike say your High Life or PBR, isn't cheap enough to justify being crap.

Haven't tried the beer, but surprisingly, their steaks are some of the best I've ever had. Beer is probably made in Utica.

That's not really cheap... I bet PBR tastes better and it's 15 for 30. Doesn't Kirkland make industrial size shampoo and nuts? Did you get 24 40oz beers for $17?

Brewed by San Francisco-area craft brewer Gordon Biersch. It's decent. Probably not worth the $17 but we bought a few cases for my apartment when I was living in San Diego and they always went fast. Come with a Pale Ale, Hef, German Lager, and Amber Ale. Try one...it's not a complete waste of $17 and it will get you drunk.

That's interesting. Haven't tried it yet.

GB also brews Trader Joe's beer. Figured that out by looking at the font and label organization.

GB is out of San Jose, which I suppose is technically "San Francisco area," but it also has >200,000 people within its city limits than San Francisco.

I remember when there was that "generic" fad... seemed you could find everything in white packaging with blocky text description for a bit.

yep- that's the stuff. I remember going over to my older brothers share house on the vineyard way back when and almost EVERYTHING was of that variety. CORN CHIPS, POTATO CHIPS, COLA, etc. They were joking they couldn't get generic copenhagan...
