    FS: The North Face VE-25

    $225 plus shipping. Sold

TNF VE-25, arguably the most bombproof tent ever made. While not the lightest three person tent it is certain best able to handle anything you can imagine. There is a reason this tent is commonly seen on the South Col of Everest. The double wall makes this the warmest tent I have ever slept in, yet I have never had the least problem with condensation. There are two vestibules, and so much room it is often the meeting place during bad weather.

This is the all yellow model, so it is a few years old, but in excellent condition. I have used it a couple dozen times, but mostly for car and canoe camping, as I have had lighter options for solo or two person trips. It has been to high altitudes in the Sierra, but never above 12,000 feet.

I bought it as a second, so the light "O" on the label is filled in with blue ink, but there is nothing wrong with it. Somebody bought it, used it once and returned it. All the seams are taped, but could use a touch up, and a bottle of seam sealer is included.

The reason I am selling this is I have too many tents (is that even possible? Just like, is it possible to have too many skis?) To show how good this tent is, I have a VE-24 that is 30 years old, and still going strong ( it was the first version of the present tent). I also have a Bibler tent, so I am well covered.

If you need a tent that can tolerate any amount of snow loading, or any wind speed, this is the tent.

edit to add an FYI: here is a link for more info. on the current version, which is very similar, Campmor is one of the few people that seem to have these???

    bump for a classic
Be careful about buying snowboard goggles for skiing. Snowboard goggles come in right eye and left eye (for goofy-footers) dominant models. This can make it hard to see correctly when skiing because you are facing straight down the hill, not sideways.

I keep telling myself I don't need this. Does it being a second affect the warranty at all?

    I have no idea.

I have heard both good and bad stories about TNF warranty department.

You're killing me with this thing. I've always wanted one of these tents and i'm thinking for the price difference between this and the Hilleberg is going to mean that many more road trips come winter. PM on the way shorty... and dibs.

IIRC the Berkley NF outlet says they don't honor the warranty on anything with the O filled in, but I've also heard people say they've been able to have the stuff covered. Things it's pretty much a YMMV type thing....that or rub some mud in on the logo so they can't tell the ) is filled

^^^I bought an I-tent from you which has sent me down that slippery slope of single wall tents.

I have a VE-24 that I bought when the first came out (mid 70s?), and still have it, otherwise I would never part with the 25. I agree, one of, if not the best tents ever made.

    Sold to time2climb
