Dawson Saddle to Throop Peak
(elevation 9,134 feet)
4 miles round trip
1,200 feet vertical.
Many peaks of the San Gabriel Mountains offer superb views, and this is one of the best.
Throop Peak (pronounced "troop") was named for Amos G. Throop, founder of Cal Tech, formerly called Throop College.
