    Dynastar Legend Snowbird 11000?

Wonder if it's going to be anything different, or just a 8800 with a different topsheet. Nice if they blew up the dimensions like the Pro, amybe bigger.

Snowbird, Utah (Ski Press)-Dynastar and Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort have finalized a partnership that will include the French company’s limited production of a Legend Snowbird 11,000 ski, the Legend Demo Center on the Snowbird Center Plaza Deck and a retail ski purchase promotion.

“Snowbird and Dynastar are synonymous on almost every level. Snowbird is home to some of the best big mountain skiing and big mountain skiers in the world. Our products and our people thrive in this environment and we couldn’t be more proud to be associated with Snowbird,” said Dynastar President Chris Licata.

The new Legend Demo Center on the Snowbird Center Plaza Deck will offer a variety of Dynastar equipment. Purchasers of Dynastar Legend skis outside Utah receive a free Snowbird lift ticket and special lodging rates at Snowbird.

“Dynastar and Snowbird is a natural partnership,” said Snowbird President Bob Bonar. “We both offer products that appeal to dedicated, core skiers who love big mountain riding.”

The Dynastar ski features a wood core, titanium-laminated construction, and Toughskin, which will keep the ski looking fresh for years. The Legend Snowbird ski combines cutting edge, deep technical sidecut with the perfect width for experiential adventure seekers, all wrapped in an orange graphic. The ski will be available at select shops in Utah and at Snowbird resort shops. Production will be limited to 150 pairs.

The 11,000 figure represents the height in feet of Snowbird’s Hidden Peak, the top of the Snowbird Tram.

I don't think it's gonna be anything too special. Just some "limited edition" topsheet graphics and maybe some slightly different measurements than the 8800. Won't be very beefy though. It's gonna be more of an all-mountain "feel-good" ski.

Agreed. The market of people who would buy a bigger Legend Pro is not the same market buying "Special Super Duper Commemorative Coin Series Patriotic Welcome Mat Bumper Sticker" ski-resort branded ski.

LOL. I love the way that the numbering system, which was in metres, has been americanised to refer to feet so the number looks more impressive.

What's 8800 meters besides like Everest? Isn't that like 28,000ft?

They still are. Look at the tails.

    8800 - Everest
8000 - Annapurna; first 8000m climbed; climbed by French team
    4800 - Mt Blanc
