This is a proto so the flex on this pair was soft I would say closer to 4 on Marshals scale, pretty close maybe a little softer than the 188 soft Bro from a few years ago. Nice round even flex and not heavy.

Suprised is how I would characterize my experience on this ski. I was apprehensive going into skiing this, first I knew the conditions were not going to be ideal for a ski this big, second the center mount position just looks like too much tail and third it is pretty soft. So I say suprised, because I had a great time on this ski and didn't give any on my concerns a second thought after making a couple of runs. I planned on changing the mount position, but once I started skiing I just kept going and didn't think about it.

The Tubby was easy to get up on edge and really held its line once there. When it came to the soft slushy bumps, the ski just rode smoothly right through them with no problems at all. At higher speeds the tips started to flutter, as expected from a rockered tip that is this soft, but it wasn't that harsh chatter that makes you think you need to get off the throttle. I didn't find a speed limit on them or get to a point where I felt scared.

Second phase of skiing them where they probably don't belong. I took them for a couple of runs through the 1/2 pipe. Now, I am no 1/2 pipe ninja, but since my daughter digs it I will make a few trips through there. They felt very stable in the air and the landings were stable and comfortable. I landed almost on the flat part of the pipe once and I was especially suprised that it didn't have that harsh slapping impact.

All in all, I ended up having a blast on a day that otherwise would have been more about the party than the skiing.
