I guess I'm not done, sorry the FUCK SALOMON thing bothers you guys so much.... wish I could have saved you all some insoles, I would have rather you guys had a chance to play with them for yourself...

From now on I'll just post some pics of TC in the tailgunning, there are tons in the EC threads.

I don't know the guy ,I will never know the guy , I'm sorry he got hurt but he is one of >300million people in NA so personaly it's hard to get as excited as you are

It doesnt bother me but the Fuck Salomon does not accomplish anything ,it doesnt give us any new or relevant info on anything cuz IMO Salomon is not about to roll over on a legal issue based on a few comments from a social website but hey its a free country so prove me wrong?

The incident is in process and the wheels of justice are turning albeit slowly but thats how they turn

if Gunder knew product development as well as he claimed he'd know that no, serious fuckups don't happen with a good R&D program.

Been trolling this thread since the beginning, and it seems to be dissolving. I just came here to say that I dont know TC, probably never will, but TC I wish you all the best in your recovery. You look like a damn fine skier and you post some excellent stoke. I cant imagine how hard it would be to miss a season, let alone face the challenges you have. Good luck on your recovery man. Ill see you on the slopes.

Ya for me that doesn't play any better than blaming RA or anyone personaly at Salomon for a bad boot getting out the door

BUT All it does when you are entirely unreasonable is bring out the rest of the entirely unreasonable people who try to disagree with you and maybe you lose some credibility in the process ?

did anyone ever e-mail Salomon to express their dissaproval ,I think I have asked this 3 times now ?

Keep the pictures of Tail Gunner Charlie coming.

Constraint is not misplaced here, and waiting for justice will take a while.

In the meantime the good thing about not being an industry insider, or a wannabe big-name, is that you can form your opinions without fear of damaging your reputation with Salomon or the industry. These companies and the industry names than pander around them seem to forget that it is the retail schmoes on the street that ultimately keep them in the money.

Some people seem to have confused the mountains for the business.

I wake up everyday look out the window and see mountains that I can walk to from my door, and that along, with my winter customers' safety and enjoyment is all I care about (plus my wife and my dog and my vegetable garden).

The only things I worry about are events that could take this away from me through no fault of my own. Since TC'S boot failed and led to serious injury, companies like Salomon carelessly and greedily entering the backcountry "product space" and the people who support them are on that list.

I am only a small fish, but I will see over 100 backcountry customers this coming season and, as is typical for almost all of them, they will pay acute attention what gear I use and why - because 99% of them are itching to buy. I will make a point of warning them about backcountry products from Salomon - that they should trust time-tested brands where the people who promote the products actually use the products. Specifically in this case, none of the ripping huckers we hear so much about used the low tech inserts.

Most of my customers come from the fastest growing ski markets in the world with the strongest economies and highest propensities to consume (Australia, China/HK, India, Scandi nations).

And before you scoff at Australia, China/HK and India - you might want to see the amount of money they are pouring into the ski industry in Japan. The US and EU segments of the industry - which appears to be struggling in places - would cry if they knew what they were missing.

    Bla, bla, bla....
Whatever. Your degree is next to meaningless for me.
Did you actually apply it? What experience do you have on your resume that shows you applied this to the manufacture of a product or products? While you may have more knowledge on the subject of plastics and composites engineering than 99% of us here, that alone doesn't qualify you as an expert witness.

2nd the other comments regarding tact.

thats a good thing and everyone should take the 5 minutes it would take to express their disapproval

but my point is and has always been what have you been to a corporate entity except a foul mouthed rabble?

Tree huggers I know and have been associated with would circulate an email which only requires the reciever to click a button or even just forward a message which floods the fax/e-mail bucket of forestrty/oil company/your member of parliment or legislature with the same carefuly worded message which indicates there is a organized group out there ... basic activism

nowdays the activists I know are organized ,get paid , might wear business suites ,carry laptops and don't say fuck

Just went to the Salomon US site to see if the boots in question were/are marketed as a stiff, charging, alpine like boot or something for ballerina like rando racers. Seems some are not just writing emails.

There is more to the story of the background guy, ask TC.

I had dinner with Dalton last week, but not Linnea. Why? Wellll, she had to take a 3 day a week job in PA to make ends meet. 14ish hour commute, ftw.

Thanks Salomon for causing this family to be split up due to your lack of proper testing.

Which brings me to the next topic: The expiration of Dalt's insurance benefits for PT. Now it's $200 x 3 per week or $2400 a month.

Compound this with TC's new prognosis for his leg (check Gimp Central thread on "heteropic occification" and you've got good reason to worry- but TC in his usual defiance for the norm continues to keep his head high, his chest out and his best foot forward ... I for one will put a little more wind in his sails when I get home. If anyone has a little wiggle room in their budget, now would be a great time to send a few bucks his way. I'm sending him a gift after I leave and deposit my check after work for sure. I suggest anyone who can to do the same. Thanks guys. See you this weekend D. :yourock

    Edit to add:

I'm done gearslutting(for now), and figured I would help out a mag that doesn't get to have a season. Pay-pal sent

I don't know how the t-shirts worked out(got mine), some stickers or die-cuts would be rad.
