    Isurus Wetsuits

Anyone have one? Any thoughts/feedback? I just moved to Outer Sunset, and I need a titly suit for the upcoming season. I just ordered a custom, since my waist is a L/XL and my chest/shoulders are XXL. Been fondling these at Aqua and Mav's, and I think these are possibly the best option available right now.

Note: I have no affiliation with the company, nor do I know anyone that works for them. I'm paying full retail for my suit.

I found this description from their website enlightening.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Proin mauris nunc, aliquam at euismod sit amet, imperdiet nec ipsum. Pellentesque bibendum accumsan ante id hendrerit. Aenean tristique nibh eu nunc fermentum luctus. Aenean ac tortor mi, at malesuada turpis. Duis in urna at erat porta lobortis. Vivamus sit amet dignissim urna. Suspendisse luctus ipsum augue, vel interdum mauris. Sed vulputate enim sit amet ante semper id adipiscing lorem adipiscing. Vestibulum convallis adipiscing mattis. Nunc luctus ornare turpis.

It's pretty awesome to have a surf website, of all things, with a latin description.

But ya, for any product info, like prices where to buy, etc it sucks ass.

Mine is supposed to be here sometime this week, but I'll be in Chicago tomorrow. It took 6 weeks for a custom order. I will say, though, that I've been freezing my nads off around here lately.

The website had some links on it one month ago. I would never have gotten one of their suits based on the website. It doesn't sell their product one bit. I believe their 4/3/4 is around $580. I can get more info to anyone looking for one. I promise to post extensive reviews this year.

I guess I'm lucky my Xcel Infiniti 5/4/3 fits me fine and keeps me toasty for $279 on sale.

I've had one for the last few months.....the 4/5/4

So far I've been really happy with it......but there are a few things that suck, too.

It is by far the warmest suit I've worn....mostly because almost no water gets into the suit. I've been out in 47* water for several hours at a time and been fine. Not cold at all other than hands and feet. I surf where there is usually upwelling all summer.....so warmth is important.

Its super lightweight. The neoprene doesn't absorb much/any water so it stays light in the water, too. Its been pretty noticeable how much lighter the suit is when paddling and popping up.

Its comfortable and easy to put on when its dry. The neoprene supposedly conforms to your body after you wear it a few times......kinda like a thermoflex liner on ski boots. I don't know if it did or not, but when I bought it was really tight, then after 4-5 times out it stretched out a little bit and is really comfortable now.

    Sucks:

Really hard to take off after a session. The neoprene seems to grip your skin when wet and doesn't really slide at all. When tired after a long session it kinda sucks to struggle to get out of the suit.

Hard to put it back on when wet. Kind of a pain in the ass, but I'm more worried about the stress on the neoprene and seams from having to pull so hard to get it back on when its wet. Not too much of a problem though because it dries out completely in less than an hour if hung up in the breeze.

Its too dry to take a leak in it.....if you piss in this suit, it will stay with you and not flush out!

Overall I'm really happy with it.....just need to see if it holds up over time. I guess I got a deal on it.....paid about a hundy more than an xcel.

I liked my 5/4/3 xcel, too.....until it started falling apart. It just couldn't take the abuse of surfing it a lot....mostly because it hardly ever dried all the way out for a 2nd or 3rd session in a day. The shoulder seams go pretty easily it seems like....I know 3-4 others that have had the same thing happen. Xcel will fix it for you but it took over 2 months for a friend to have the work done by xcel.....my old suits were so shredded that I couldn't afford to go for that long without my primary suit. Mine leaked at most of the seams after only 4-5 months of use......surfing almost everyday. I don't want to have to buy a new suit twice a year. So I rolled the dice with Isurus.....so far its been worth the extra $$ for me.....hopefully it holds up.

So, my suit arrived two days ago. I met Jim in HMB, and he told me I was the first person to get the 2011 suit. He gave me some pointers on how to get it on and off, and we shot the breeze about his company. Very cool guy, very cool of him to meet me personally to thank me for supporting his company. I will add more to this later, as the durability becomes more evident.

The fit was pretty tight, but then again, I haven't had a new suit in almost two years.

Suit is very warm. Could see this suit probably down to 40 degrees. No flushing from the top, even with the hood rolled down around my neck. The new suit has a drawstring closure around the neck, making it easy to put on or take off, and allowing you to tighten it if need be.

Hood is made of very plush material. Feels great on or just rolled down. No bill on hood.

The best part of this suit is the construction. I'm not going to list everything, here, but it's impressive. The single greatest thing that I like about this suit is the way the panels are pieced together. The sides are two huge panels, running from hip to underarm. This allows you to lift your hands over your head with almost no resistance. Suit is very light, and is dry in a few hours.

No key pocket. This is a big deal to me, after having surfed so much out of a car. I'm going to suggest that they add this to the suit.

Overall, very nice suit. I spent 4 hours in the water at OB the other day, and was never near cold. Helps you paddle easier, saves energy. So many positives.

Nope. No key pocket at all. With a VW Syncro, this bothers me a little. If I owned a $40k Tundra, lifted and full of boards, this would be a deal-breaker.

Um, scratch that. So, there is a key pocket inside the hood, right above the chest zipper. I doubt I would have found it if it hadn't been pointed out to me. Location is out of the way, so I doubt I'm ever going to lose a key there.

    THIS SUIT IS NOW PERFECT.
