    ski patrol blew it up dip shit.

    this happened back in 2008 after some newschoolers from texas hiked up there, worked to build up the jump over their entire spring break, then finally hit it switch and died.

    the tailings pile got wiped out in a mudslide last spring. now, chad's gap is a sick stepdown into the grizzly gulch gully

    I think you'd have better luck with this thread over on newschoolers, but for what its worth, here are the easiest directions from what I remember.

    1) Head up LCC to Alta
    2) Take the Albion lift up
    3) You're going to have to skin for about 1/2 an hour up to Catherine's. 3
    4) When you get there, skin all the way across the ridgeline, then drop in.
    5) At the bottom you'll see a huge feature very similar to Chad's Gap, it's called Gaper's Gap.
    6) Once you see Gaper's Gap, you'll have to skin for about 1 mile and 1/2 more skier's right, and you can't miss it.

    I saw people building it up this winter skinning up through Grizzly Gulch. If it's not as big as it was at one point, it's still freakin' massive and the run in is pretty sketch.
