I was lucky enough to bump into Guerlain the other day and ski with him. He was on his pro model ski for net year, and let me take a few laps on them. Granted, I only had a couple laps on these monsters, but here's what I thought:
The ski:
2011 Coreupt Guerlain Chicherit Pro Model
183cm
140 underfoot (not sure of the tip and tail dimensions, but it was pretty much traditional sidecut.)
35 meter turning radius
Shape: Square tips that resemble Moments (rather than the Big Balls proto last year), A tiny tiny bit of reverse sidecut in the tips and tails, and rocker tip and tail. There was a lot of rocker in the tip (about the same as my Protests, and a bit less in the tails). Flex was on the medium/soft side; not super soft though. Definitely stiffer than Hellbents and the like.
Conditions: ~50cms of new snow. Got everything from Super light to super heavy pow, crud, hard groomers, etc.
Pow: Obviously at 140 underfoot these things float. What I wasn't expecting was that they were just as pivoty/surfy/smeary as full reverse/reverse. In pow I couldn't tell the difference between them or my Protests. Super awesome pow ski.
Crud/tracked pow: I was really surprised how well these things charged through cut up. I was worried that they would be awful through chop like Hellbents and EP Pros. Not the case. With the rocker and huge tips they floated over any bumps with ease.
Groomers: With a 35 meter radius these things do carve, and they do it pretty well. Definitely not a GS ski, but they will make it back to the lift without being cumbersome at all. Compared to my Protests, these things are much more manageable on hard snow, they didn't feel like work at all.
Overall: The first time I saw these things I was super skeptical, but they are a ton of fun. The guys at Coreupt see it as a pow only ski, and I agree, but it is way more manageable on harder snow that a reverse/reverse. I see this thing as being a charging version of the EP Pro. Same awesome float, but much better everywhere else.
