    Quiver Shuffle

Sort of a play off the quiver pic thread, but looking to re-organize and diversify my quiver, so lets discuss where we have overlap and where what spots we need to fill.

    Me:
    6'2''
    210#s in gear
    Fast, Charging style of Gaper
    touring/mountaineering

    Skis currently in quiver:
190 Gold Got - Daily Driver
    190 Praxis Backcountry w/ Fritschi Freeride + : Touring/powder boards
(gripe: This slot could be a bit more playful in soft snow, or could be lighter for touring). I climbed 5000' of vert in a summit this weekend and they were getting heavy, but definitely got the job done.
    194 Dynastar XXL- Crud/Charging ski
192 Line Moships w/ Naxos - Doesn't get much use, needs to go.

    Skis I want in quiver
190 Moment Bibby w/ Dukes -soft snow daily driver/slackcountry
190(ish) ON3P Wren -same as above (overlapz)?
    190(ish) ON3P Caylor
    190 Moment Night Train
190 PM Gear Bro Model w/ double carbon lay-up
    Others?

Soft snow daily driver: Tip/tail rockered ski w/ camber underfoot, 110 + underfoot. I love the Moment Bibby's and pretty sure I'd love the ON3P Wrens. Must be a fairly stiff, charging capable ski that CAN handle 210 pounds trying to break it. Going to go w/ Dukes on this set-up for short backcountry booting tours.

Deep Powder: Moment Night Trains or ON3P Caylors or...go bigger???

Tour Ski: I've been bit by the bug for ski mountaineering, and looking for a light, stiff, ass hauling ski with a solid tail, camber underfoot, and maybe a bit of tip rocker or early rise that is dominant on spring hardpack, slush and corn, and is still powder capable. I like the sound of the new bro model w/ the reduced wood core and double carbon layer, but will definitely want something around a 190 (as far as I know they're changing the 183, not the 90s?). Looking to go w/ Dynafits on this set-up.

Utility ski: Thinking I'll just keep the Gold Gots, or, get both the Wrens and Bibby's, and decide which i'll mount w/ Dukes and which I'll mount a straight alpine binding.

What am I not thinking of, what other skis could fit. What would others do considering my needs/and requirements in a ski (speed & stability for fairly heavy dude)?

if you are trying to avoid overlap what you should be looking into is something like praxis pow or protest, dps 138, sally rocker or something mega fat and mega rockered. you can find the pows and rockers for pretty cheap.

also i dont think they made a 190 NT, the longest is 186 although maybe 190 is in the works??
Perhaps you'd be more comfortable on epicski or Paula's Ski Lovers, AltaNancy.

Would have to agree with dyno, that you should look at something hudge to ovoid overlap, but I am one of the champions of overlap because I can't help myself.

FWIW, I have recently added wrens with dukes (this binding choice was out of convenience) and they are surprisingly light. I'm about 205 lbs and the skis are a very nice choice for me. However I think these would have quite a bit of overlap with what you already have, but IMHO the best of the litter.

^^^ I was under the same school of thought for a while, but have changed my tune. I haven't been on a full r/r, so I don't really know what I'm talking about, but I can't quite talk myself into dedicating a valuable quiver spot to something that won't be fun any day, anywhere. I do think that "hudge" is a must-fill quiver spot.

I'm currently on 196 Lhasa Carbons and 185 Moships. Lhasas really shine in powder and soft crud, and are still lots of fun all over the mountain. The Moships are sort of the same, in that they really shine in hard/heavy crud, coral, etc., and are still fun in everything else. At this point, I don't see myself pulling the trigger on something one-dimensional. I'd like something fun and poppy, like JJs or similar. I'd also like something that ski like the Motherships, but aren't so damn heavy.

The OP's got 50lbs and 5 inches on me, so I don't really have much to add to that part of the discussion....
    focus.

Must: I know you'd (or anybody) would love the Moment Bibby's. They are a friggin awesome ski, very poppy, pretty light, and stable underfoot, that can pretty much be ridden any day IMO. The ON3P Wren feels like a similar ski, but unfortunately I haven't skied it yet.

I agree for the most part about each ski in the quiver being able to be skied on any given day, but I'm trying to build out the quiver so each ski serves a specific purpose (long tours, short tours, lift served), while being able to ski in about any condition. I would like to have a dedicated powder ski though, just to make those glory days that much more glory-filled.
