The only thing that would have been cooler is if it had been Shane.

Wow. That was fun to watch. Really highlights how much of a badass Kittinger was in 1960.

Pretty f'in amazing.
Did his chute open automatically? Just wondering why didn't wait another 16 sec to get the free fall record on top of highest jump.
Not taking anything away from the guy. Major balls required to take that first step...

I would have liked to see a 30 min or so of: "ok here I go, no wait, hold on... ok now... wait, is my suit ok? It is just so pretty up here.... ok now, wait... hold on..."
... jfost is really ignorant, he often just needs simple facts laid out for him...

Last thing I heard before he stepped off was ".... I'm going home now."

I think he is going to be pissed...from what I can gather, he missed the longest freefall record and didn't break the sound barrier. i doubt Red Bull will give him another shot...awesome they sponsored this...they get my $$$ from now on (a lot easier to support shit like this than snowboarders that fancy themselves rockstars).

Those spins in the freefall were real scary to watch. I would have puked all over my face mask. Also nerve-racking not being able to understand what he was saying during the decent.
I wouldn't be too worried about the sound barrier and free-fall records...dude, jumped out of a ballon almost 128,000 feet up!

Sound barrier will be hard to tell until they do the math. Speed of sounds changes with altitude and the speed they were showing during the live feed was a rough estimate, IMHO.
Super fuckin stoked for him though, I was holding my breath the whole time after the door of the capsule opened, holy fuck!
