    Boxer shorts recs?

I wore the Banana Republic boxers for years and then they went and changed the mfg process. The new ones just don't fit the same as the old ones did. All the old pairs I had are wearing out. Lately I've been searching for some new ones and I can't seem to find anything I'm really happy with. I grabbed a pair of Burberry ones that are nice and soft but obscenely expensive. Then I grabbed a pair of Neimans ones that are decent but the cotton isn't soft enough. I'm not sure where to go from here and I'm looking to your for suggestions.

So, who makes nice soft boxer shorts that don't cost $40? Not boxer briefs. Not ski specific undies (I'm totally satisfied with the Icebreaker ones for that). Just plain old boxers in a size 34ish waist.

I really have no bizness in this thred, but I want to know...why not boxer briefs?

If I was a guy I could NeVeR wear tighty whiteys or full on boxers. It would have to be those stretchy boxer briefs. Or a silver man-thong.

That's all I wanted to say.

Boxer briefs have their place for me, but it's only when I'm skiing, hiking, or doing manual labor. Otherwise the pure comfort of having the wedding tackle gently robed in soft high thread count cotton is tuff to beat.

I suspect the male dancers in the crowd will wax poetic about the unending virtues of the silver man-thong though.

But can you machine wash them? Mrs. Cruiser loves me a lot, but probably not enough to hand wash my silk undies in the sink every week.

I could try the ON ones. The best thing about the BR ones was the price. I never paid more than $5/pair. Prolly the same with Old Navy, right?

^^^ No shit. Cut me some slack Duluth. I put the thread here because I knew it would get the most responses here. It's a serious fucking problem. I'm running low on undies after being forced to retire several pairs due to unsightly holes developing in the crotch that allowed my sensitive bits to rub up against the coarse fabric of my jeans.

brooks are prob. nice - but I've had success with the Old Navy ones and you can get lots for $54...

I was wondering the other day if boxers are the new tighty-whiteys, seems like boxer briefs are the thing nowadays. Can't do it for a regular work day though, as mentioned above...

Another rec for Old Navy here, but considering ON and BR are both owned by The Gap, maybe they've all changed - which means I'll be in the same boat.

Hahaha! Non, that's not in his wardrobe to date. However, I did have to do some corrective shopping a while back to fix things around here. The outfitting all good now though. Female saves the day!

If you're buying anything but Hanes tagless, button fly, same material band you are wasting your money. I have bought every pair of boxers under the sun and you aren't going to find a pair of cost effect/comfortable pair that beats them. Save your flow for your pants. once the pants are off so are the boxers so it makes little difference.

For everyday use good old fashion J.C. Pennies cotton boxers. Cheap and comfortable. For hiking travel et cetera, Patagucci capalene (silk weight) boxers.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...
