How long have you been on the board?

I'm talking about the old board(powder.com) in addition to TGR(thanks Owens).

I stumbled into and became a maggot on day 2 of powmag's forum with the username of str8line and have had a few variants like *str8line* and hgmthrfknstr8linebiatch, but am back to the old str8line.

I'm interested to see what this question turns up. Too bad we don't have the old posts from powder still.

Also, who that used to be a regular has disappeared? My memory sucks.

I signed up on Powdermag in the Spring of 2001...got scared off by the drugged monkey....then started posting regularly in December 2001 in response to the first Summit. My old board name was ten80suprstr.

I've been around for 3 maybe 3 and a half years now. I was SublimeSkier505 then Sublime Skiers Ghost and now just plain ol' Sublime.

I've been around for two years and still consider myself a rookie 'round these parts.

Started on Powder late in 2001, migrated to TGR during the "Revolution".

2-1/2 years ago or so I posted a dumb question on powdermag under a different username and got jonged back into lurker status until just before the great exodus...

    Thumbs up

Between the old Powder board and here, I've been here 3-4 years and over 5000 posts. Hearing you guys talking about skiing really has me wanting to try it some day. Especially that powder snow skiing. Sounds intense!

Near the beginning. Can't believe it's been that long. Always stoked to meet new people, but it's even more fun to continually cross paths with people again and again.

Started luking around P'mag in 2000. I think I started posting there around winter 01 and kind of moved over here after the exodus. Unfortunatley, my post count at both places would make me look like a month old JONG (my occupation keeps me from the board most of the time). I do try my best to check in regularly. My handle has been and still is Rippinsick on both boards.

C'mon, let's hear it for the dearly departed...dredge up some names from the past.

ALSO, who knows the actual birthdate of maggotdom? Would Dineen?

I've been around since December 2001. I started posting under a different name then blew it off for my current name after about 2 months. I posted a couple times on the K2 board but never really became commited; I was actually posting looking for information back then.

OK Phunk, 5000 posts x 5 minutes of lurking per post = 25,000 minutes = 416 hours = 17.36 days = over ten 40 hour work weeks straight.

Actual time spent on board is probably 2-10 times that-no?

So the question is, is that really you up at Alta or is that a stunt skier?

ha, I saw that, but I guess somebody sent you a PM or something. I have not disappeared, it's just that I've become less funny. Although I have my moments.

Official starting date of the powmag boards was Sept. '01, If I had to pick a date I would say it was the 21st. Several people who are still here (Punani for sure) posted that first day.

I was a couple months behind the curve.

I started on the Powdermag board in 2000 or 2001, near the beginning... Wasn't a really active poster though... Started posting here when most of the maggots emigrated, but haven't really read either board for a good half year (maybe full year? couldn't ski last year due to responsibility an shit, but am able to again this year).

Busted. That's just some highschool kid that lives down the street. I pay him $20 a week during the winter. Us old guys don't jump off cliffs, you know that.

PS. I just gave my 3 week's notice at work so I can ski & photoslut all winter.

You arent taking those pills are you?

Lets see, signed on powmag summer of 2003 a few months before the exodus, then signed on here right after. Met some great folks, skied some great places, and had a blast. Good people all around.

Didnt dare post anything for a very long time because I saw how other high shcoolers were treated (I.E. seldon Akpm, and max) So, I learend the ways of the maggot, Got the heck out of high school and have been on a posting rampage as of late due to the fact I have nothing better to do. Some quick research reveals how stupid I am, the powmag board started in 2000, the oldest post I could find was from Caroline, dated Sept 5 or something, I just bumped it, you can go see for yourself if for some strange reason you care.

But, to the other topic: people who've disappeared who you wish were still around.

Rob, Shane, Scott and you are the main ones. Seth was kinda discreet. I think Holmes was intimidated, but I could be wrong.

As far as the normal peeps, I miss roll-gybe and APK, that's about it.

I started checking out Teletips in fall of 2000, started seeing the cross posts to powder and finally made the jump in the fall of 2001. Definetly did my fair share of lurking before I started posting.
